Soft Sentences

Postby Psycho » Wed Aug 20, 08 9:09 pm

Today, reading the newspaper I realised that Garry Glitter has been released from prison, after serving a 3 year sentence for molesting 2 children, one 10 and the other 11 at the time. I find this such a soft sentence for such a bad offence. Other soft treatment on celebritys are like Amy Whinehouse, who has been caught with crack/takin crack, many times, and no diciplinery action, whilst average people get years for the offence. And this has got me thinking on how soft this country are on sentences for celebritys, and how harsh they are on normal people.

I find this unfair, and I want this to change.

Mate, in The Netherlands people get 16-18 years for murder. Talk about soft sentences :P

The Chair has always been criticised for being "inhumane" now a punishment that is REALLY terrifying would be enough to set any one straight.

I actually think that putting death punishment on rape / child molest / murder cases would really decrease the ammount of crime.

Though it would be fucked up if you are innocent.

I think the chair should be given to a jailmate of whom has multiple witnesses to their doings, evidence and/or has commited the offence more than once. That is the only method to confirm one's verdict.

You know what sucks, though

They hang you upside down, so all your blood goes to your head. Then they begin cutting very slowly, so as to initiate as much pain as possible. Since the blood is to your head, you will not die of shock, or pass out until they get to the stomach or often times lungs, which by then you will die of respiratory failure.

You're wide awake during the whole thing.
