Thats what you could do in the original Deus Ex, while I can't remember overthrowing shop keepers and having a choice to do that with team mates or alone.

I see your point through: in original game you liked only plot and non-linearity, so you think that any role-playing gametype will be much closer to the original game than any deathmatch. I disagree but that's a matter of taste really.

of course Deus Ex has great story, atmosphere, non-linearity... et cetera. I'm a fan of a singleplayer, I replayed it many times and it's a great game indeed.

But still your position about multiplayer seems deliberately snobbish to me.
