Why do we hate our governments?

Postby Siva » Thu May 11, 06 9:22 pm

It doesnt really make sense.

We call bush and blair fags and whatever, because they represent different views than we do.

There are MILLIONS, and in america, BILLIONS of people.

Its just IMPOSSIBLE to represent every persons view, it CANNOT happen, stop critisising your governments on the mistakes they make, its a bloody hard job, and they're probably doing the best they can.

THAT and Bush\blair are powerless figureheads.

END of rant =/

The reason we hate them is that the senseless, uneducated general masses vote for the party theyve been fed on and the people who realised the current government are shit and voted differently complain about them. Then of course the uneducated masses realise they're complete and utter retards and complain as well...

You're just fueling the idea of someone that wants everything his way to happen in governments.

Not exactly helping the cause.

Your point is quite narrow minded, and flawed, to say the least. Those in positions of power in a countries democratic government are not there to "Do what every one wants.", they are there to do whats right for their country.

Good example; Bill Clinton. He was a good US president.

Bad example; George Bush. Do you honestly need a list? (Hint: Look at the economy.)

Good example; John Howard. He has been elected priminister for 10 years in a row.

Bad example; Paul Keating. A man that sent Australia into record debit. (Replaced by John Howard; Australia is now free of debit.)

I know they can't represent everyone's view, but they are all after money and power. Thats all it is. Why do you think when they show the lib dems / conversatives / whatever fast asleep in the debate rooms? Coz they get PAID to show up, wether they are awake or not! Also, the reason we get so pissed off with our governments is:

A: They promise things they never keep.
B: Whatever they do change, it takes years to get put in.
C: When the change is put in, the new leader / parliament gets rid of it.

My Mum works for the Council working with children from birth to 3. She's specially trained in special needs children, and has been working with young kids all her working life. She voted for the current government because they had specific plans to expand the birth to 3 section so that children with special needs were spotted earlier, and had a better start and parents recieved better help. The government have now scrapped the plan, and are making primary school teachers (who have NO experience of dealing with birth to 3) deal with birth to 3 issues. Not only are primary school teachers pissed off with the extra work, but my Mum loses her job.

My brother is special needs, yet he doesn't get anything from the government because he is too embarassed to see a doctor/specialist over his problems now he's 16 and nearly leaving school. He is therefore refused any money from the government to go towards his care. However skanky chavs and scum off council estates who are FULLY capable of working blow their money on booze and fags and stolen goods get dole money for nothing.

Now you tell me why I shouldn't be mad at the government?

Blair claimed he was to try and cut down the truancy levels in Britain because they are currently high, so he spent some silly amount of money (I forget the exact amount, lets just say 70 million, it was around that) on cutting down the truancy levels, and since then the levels have actually gone up. Apparently.

No, not overly.

American stock exchanges and the flawed actions of it's leaders effects the world over night. When American actions effect my country, I have a right to voice my opinion. That and you don't need to live in America to see Bush is a moron.

I suppose I could lecture you on the effect that Americas supsidised exports has on the world, or maybe the war talking Bush and how he pushes up oil prices, but I get the feeling I'd be a fool to try.

Urgh the petrol prices are insane, its a hell of a lot more expensive for us Brits compared to the Americans! When petrol prices go up everyone rushes out in the middle of the night and cars are queued up at petrol stations for like 2 hours just to fill up before the prices go up yet again. :?

Australia is plauged with "Drive offs", people who fill their car up and just drive off. >.<

Or worse, people who have to pawn off their computer just to afford fuel to work for the week...

Agreed, I don't live in the UK but in New Zealand the petrol is about (last time I checked, it probably would've changed) $1.70.. That's about $3 in the UKP and $1.59 USD...

Bloody Americans getting it lucky, rofl. Not that I have a car but that's besides the point really.

Personall, IMO about all this Government shit. I hate the Government, always hated politics, always will hate politics. And because I'm an Aussie living in New Zealand I don't have to vote when I'm 18, w00t.

The Government is shit, they don't give a rats ass about you as long as they've got money in their pocket at the end of the day (I recall saying this in Cataclyzm's post about people stereotyping Americans)...

The world is already screwed, mainly cause of Governments anyway. So heres my words or NON-wisdom, lol - FUCK THE WORLD!!!

Well you and me both know that won't happen due to the Human Rights Act, anyway. Stop being so illogical. And yes, I do about the Governments CHOICES but not about the Government in general.

I hate politics, not their decisions unless they're that stupid like your inhumane example.

Yay! Another ass who is...

1. Spamming
2. Being an ass in general

Why can't ANYONE just post seriously in debates like this? Yes, I class this as a debate because a debate is...

Debate (n) - Well, it can be a verb but not in this case.

1. A discussion involving opposing points; an argument.
2. Deliberation; consideration: passed the motion with little debate.
3. A formal contest of argumentation in which two opposing teams defend and attack a given proposition.

We in this case, are looking more towards defination 1.
A discussion involving opposing points; an argument.

We are expressing our opinions in a manner that some would consider an argument but we're not blurting random insults or facts that aren't actually facts but a load of shit.

In other words, MoshMan. I despise people who post crap in a serious post such as a debate. For the simple fact that I personally, enjoy debating and this is a certain post that should be taken seriously.
