Hi everyone,

I have just released my latest map called DXMP_Command_Post. I haven't released anything for DXMP for about 6 years, so be gentle :wink:.

The map is based around a military command post. There are three main fighting areas: (1) The base compound, (2) Helipad area and (3) Barracks area.

I have implemented an airstrike system (code based) in the map which allows players to call for an airstrike at different times during the match. To initiate the airstrike you need a "launch authorisation code" which is available from a datacube located somewhere in the map. Once you have this code you must enter it into the launch console when it becomes accessible (3 minutes from start of match and 3 minutes after the previous airstrike). The code is random and changes for every airstrike and every match so there's no use trying to remember it once an airstrike has been called ;).

I've looked at your screenshots (Don't have time to look at the entire map, will do some day later) and I must say, I am impressed :) Not many manage to deliver such quality work, in mapping and coding.

Please, become a regular on DXAlpha, I would like you to become one.

I played a couple betas of this map, and I must say that it is a good quality map with good gameplay.

It's up on FGS server... It's a cracking mod... and...Thanks, it will stay on the server.

I'm a big fan, it's very similar to Stargate in a way, but a quicker game, smaller map etc, you have a bunker, you have tasks, you must obtain the code, prevent enemy from obtaining the code etc, activate something etc and for the enemy the result is pretty final. What really is great about this mod, it promotes teamwork and timing and communication to ensure a victory...

When it becomes available, I will definitely incorporate this into two Stargate maps, Area51_TheDayAfter and Vandenberg_TheDayAfter.

btw I noticed "Face's Turret", it reminded me of DXMP_Towers, are u the author of that map series, that's also up on our server...

I am wondering if the mod can be developed so that...

say for example... you call an airstrike on a51... you can specify where the strike lands... either tower, comm or hangar... you then got 20 secs to get the hell out of the building or that zone/area, and u dont know which building/area the enemy has decided to strike...

I have a map which is 5124 x 10240, its got mountains, a town, a castle, base under the castle and and an airfield with messerschmidt fighters that take off and land etc... it would be great to choose castle, town or airfield as the target etc and have players bombing the enemy half of the map etc...

I made an airstrike mod awhile back using a switch, You just point and click and rockets fly from the air :P
