My idea.

We all have computers of course, so for some time Ive bandied about creating a multiplayer map set Inside a computer with teleports to various spots.

Places to visit would be inside a cdrom, floppy, hdd, powersupply etc.

I started it yesterday so at the moment just a couple of boxes and the start of the motherboard. This will be inside a desktop box not a tower.

Cheers

This could be the start of a fair bit of fresh new ideas... Now I wanna learn how to map, heh. Anyone know any tutorial sites?

Good luck on your creation, Leenuks. Hope it turns out good, I'd love to try it when it's completed.

The grey box in back corner is the PSU.
The lighting is only for testing and will be tweaked later.
Still to add cdrom and hdd bays, ide ribbons and power cables.
Lots to do really, only early days.

In all the pics Ive posted so far Ive had to turn the gamma up in Paint Shop Pro or they would be all darkness.

Anything is possible. Just jam the fucking thing in there. I'm sure it'll work fine. I'm also sure you won't fry your HDD and possibly electrocute yourself in the process...

JUST JAM AWAY. JAM JAM JAM. WOO.

Compatability! Just disable the onboard sound card in the bios all will be good, so no fried players unless they get fried by other players.

Some textures I have exported and re-imported as ladder texture. So you might get a surprise as to what is climbable.

JAM JAM JAM AWAY, as a computer tech Ive seen some really funny/stupid things people have done to thier computers.

Heh. Climbable stuff. Sweet.

And what is this funny stuff you've heard as a computer tech (and I hope you do realize I wouldn't try and jam a hardware component in a box randomly lol). Care to share?

this is a truly innovative idea... reminds me of some surreal CS maps, it would be awesome for altfire perhaps...

Hmmm ladder bugging, good point.

I hate it when people still do that although they are easy to kill when you find them.

Ill just have to make ladders in the form of components to jump up on etc or make it so the ladder area's are enclosed to stop that.

Lifts maybe would fix that. The brown textures next to the hdd and cdroms are the default ladder texture. Those areas could be exploited easily for ladderbugging.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention Mastakilla!
