Zodiac and other mods

Postby Spiderbot01 » Sat May 27, 06 2:39 pm

I recently came across Zodiac and decided to download it and play it. Trouble is, Ive downloaded it, installed it and hit the .exe icon and get taken into the new 'TACKWARE' and Zodiac start up screen with menu etc. Where do I go from there? I don't actually know how to play the new levels. :S

Also, are the characters interactive like in the actual game etc?

First of all, it's a wrong room for such question. Therefore I'm moving the topic.

Secondly, I think you shouldn't have clicked the .exe file - use a shortcut instead (I don't remember where does the installer for this mod place it, but it should be either in start menu or desktop). Next time use it.

After you have opened Zodiac, click "new game" button.

What do you mean "interactive"? The only thing is, Zodiac has no voice acting.

And it's a good mod in my opinion.

Oh right cool. It works now thnx Dae ^_^ soz for the wrong forumness, I wasnt 100% sure where to put it. When I said interactive I meant like they talk to you, even without voice acting...

Lol surely they do talk  It's a single player mod!!

After playing Zodiac, even if you're not enough satisfied of it, try Cassandra and Burden Of 80 Proof.

In the beginning Zodiac may seem a bit boring and somewhere hard so it's okay.
You have to come close to that blue thingy generator and stick С4 to it as far as I remember.

I don't know the exact number, but there are 3 parts and a lot of missions.

I doubt you know these people (their names are on the websites).

None of these people used to play DXMP. And they now rarely appear on forums (besides carone).
Hotel Carone - Carsten 'carone' Kraemer
Cassandra - The Narcissus Entity (leader - Kieron 'BremXJones' Gillen)
Redsun - Odaiba
Burden of 80 Proof - Scott, just Scott :)

As in DestroyerZero, he informs me of most of the stuff I could possibly want to know. But I often ask about stuff for him for his site... Only problem with Zodiac I think, is the lack of ammo. I'm not much of a stealth guy, and I like to shoot the crap outta people :(

I felt lack of ammo only in the beginning of the mod. Aim for head and everything will be okay :)

I always used batons and other such beating things in the game...
I have no problem taking down all the guards in the CIA HQ. Also its not
even that hard to get completly past the guards there...

My Suggested Technic:
1. Turn up the volume and listen to the footsteps the guards make.
2. Always have toggle-crouch on and sneak up on the guard WHILE
CROUCHED!
3. Just before you are very close stand up and run at him. Use a baton
to the back of the head (This requires lots of practice... not easy to do
1 hit takedown) or zap him with the prod. :D Usually not in front of the
guard where he can see you lol.

Speed Aug and a sword works wounders for large groups of guards :D

Well. I learnt one thing from Zodiac:

20MM>Grays.

I almost put my head through the screen in Hotel Carone though, one hostage to go. I accidently blew the hotel up >_>.

Redsun is good, though a bit too complicated for me lol...

LOL! 20mm works well for all those grays. I used I think 20 shells and 7 lams on the little grey village lol.

That was so funny ther first time I encountered that room. They cornered me in one of the little side rooms so I fired a 20mm at them, activated speed aug, jumped over them and continued to blast away.

I really need to get some Modifications for Deus Ex, lol. I've finished DXSP like 10 times now...

But naturally, I'm on Dial-Up and the MOD's are usually in the big MB range... I need to get a Download Manager, XD
