I just remembered talking about this with JimBowen a few years ago. The basic idea is that when the grenade detonates it spawns a generator that makes a bunch of chaff (could be a sprite or a model) and creates a field with a foreach iterator that turns the tracking on all GEP missiles off. I'm too lazy to code it, so have at it.
