DXAG

Postby Spiderbot01 » Wed Mar 05, 08 8:24 pm

For all those who love DXAG and play it a lot:

Could you tell me what parts of DXAG that make it enjoyable and what particular parts within the game, as from a mapping perspective that makes you like it.

For example is it the stealth tunnels that have to be lockpicked, or is it the various ways in which you have to work as a team to get something?

Both general examples and specific ones would be appreciated.

Teamwork, for sure. The stealth tunnels are teamwork to be honest. When I play DXAG_Area51Bunker with Daedalus we always work as a team -> Stealth + Engineer.

Stealth tunnels is possibly the most important feature, it can make the game a lot more enjoyable to flank and be away from spam fights for a few moments.

Look at both Team Fortress games, see how they're mapped out!, this game type IS based on Team Fortress and Enemy Territory, the most important features are the many routes which are suited for the type of character you're using.
Infact I'll lend you a account to try out TFC.

Sorry Max; you said "mapping" perspective.

Yeah I would say stealth tunnels, very vital to the success of the team.

never bothered with no tunnels, just give me a map to rush through with team. normal maps, normal map parts made it enjoyable, though mainman's map may have been closest to proper AG map :S

Some open buildings, but mostly lot of room and obstacles to fight through.

oh, zan goh was great as well.

but again, neither did i mess with tunnels on ZG or mainman's nor do i remember them having any impact on our game.

Now to think of it, buildings and base aspect of ZG with the city-look of landernau or what it was called would make perfect AG map in my head.

I liked the 'Outposts' in Zan Goh; people would always work together to try and rush them and capture them, or defend them. :)
