Deus Ex SDK Install Issues

Alright, so historically I've always been pretty prepared for doomsday scenarios with Deus Ex and its SDK components. Been a while since I've been on DX Alpha, but this issues has 2 routes.

Installed a Deus Ex clone into a directory clone, patched said clone, then tried to run SDK installer. Tried running said SDK installer in compatibility mode and with/without admin, but any which way I run it it comes with:

Failed opening destination file: C:\DeusEx\System\UCC.exe (Access is denied)
The destination drive might be full, or it might have bad sectors.

Just finished reformatting ye old PC and haven't played with anything major since the first time I installed DX onto my PC. I don't think SDK is gonna run or I have a way to coerce it or crack its contents out in some brute force manner, if even, so my questions are this:

Does A: Anyone know how to bypass this error and get the SDK installer working? Has anyone had similar issues, and can they be resolved?

or does B: Anyone know how to tweak the registry and subcomponents associated with a DX SDK install necessary for UED to bootup? For instance, after supplementing some DLL's as usual:

"Component 'THREED32.OCX' not correctly registered: file is missing or invalid"

This is a fun one I haven't run into before, so I'm pretty stumped, and this is the deciding factor between being able to run or not run UED on my pc post-formatting.

Thanks for your time, WCCC

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to A, but B is a common error with newer operating systems. I'm afraid THREED32 is only the beginning, you'll need about 4-5 extra files or so.

You need to use regsvr32 to register the missing components. I usually Google the files and find a download somewhere. I may be paranoid, but I also always scan them with jotti.

Actually I meant to post on this last night but forgot. A guy named Mikak who I've seen around on ModDB here and there sent me a PM, turns out what I was missing was Visual Basic 5.0 or 6.0. 5.0 installed with a MSVBVM or some similar exe, which shares the same name as a DLL file I've been carrying over from an XP machine for some time. It's all starting to make sense and as fate would have it, it worked out magnificently.

Thanks for your time anyways, hopefully anyone else bumping into this issue might find this post and figure things out for themselves, because this is an increasingly apparent error on modern machines.

A actually is not a problem as the DeusExSDK (and patches) are just executable zip files which can be extracted with virtualy every archiver around. (Also the only way to get the DeusExLibs.zip) and afterwards copied into the DeusEx directory.

B actually it looks like the same problem even a decade ago: missing ocx files. unrealedfix4.exe released by epic (around 1999) actually fixes this as it includes all the necessary ocx files (and works with all ued1 versions found in various ue1 games).

Never even heard of OCX files, and was definitely deterred by the Deus Ex SDK being a standalone EXE, though I admit I suck with foreign zip types more often than not. It was VB related, as I guess newer/possibly not installed versions of VB won't let the SDK installer run properly. Thanks anyways for the input, maybe that'll help someone else down the line.
