Have installed the lalstest patches etc (112 mp patch and got current version of sdk?

Just a though. The errors an be caused by a mod or files that have been modified in your dx/system folder by wither you or by applying new map mod ertc.

in my personal experience the best way to make the sdk work is to uninstall everything (deus ex-related fo course :D) and then make a clean install of the latest version (112) both of dx and of the sdk

Make backup then. And if you use DX unnistaller in unninstalls only DX files, original ones.

I'll leave it...
...I'd probably be rubbish at maping anyway. :?

I exactly thought so one year ago... then opened SDK, tryed to make a room. Second one. Connected them. Added water...

I deleted all my DX files.
Now I'm about to reinstall them.
If it don't work...
...I'll just go and cry somewhere.

OK. This is getting rediculous!
NOW it won't start because it needs something called 'glide2x.dll'.

glide2x.dll?
strange, it should find it if you're using it...
have you installed the sdk in the same folder as deus ex?
have you chosen direct3d as dx's video renderer?

I fine now. :)
SDK works and DX works and I just made my first map :D
Jus one problem left, it saves the map as an unreal Tournament map so I can't play it :(

always remind the sdk is a slightly modified unreal editor! :D
anyway, just rename your .unr file to .dx which is deus ex's map extension...

When you save map, for ex, map called 'bahroomz', it automatically shows 'bahroomz.unr' by default, you just change it to 'bahroomz.dx' and thats all! If you already have the map just rename it to same with .dx extension.

Thanks very much, but I figured how to do that when my internet just 'went' yesterday, lotsa time to practice and experiment. :D It's great. In a few weeks I'll be quite good at this. :)

Thanks again very much for all of your help :D

btw. Anyone know any good sites for tutorials on how to use SDK?
I've already started my first 'real' map. It's gonna be good.

I see that UC has 'fog' tutorial (how to create for was a secret for me untill Ded told me).
And imo UC is probably mostly for newbies.
