My Dalek mod... I need help...

Postby Gishank » Sat May 05, 07 7:32 am

Ok, so i have the models... But i need the parts on the model to be relabeled, as i can't convert it properly -.-
The models are suitable for DX, i think. As i got them off of saying that they're compatible with UT 05', and they're near enough the same engine right? :P

There's UT'99, UT GOTY, UT 03, UT 04 and will be UT 07 (or UT3). No UT 05.

Engines of UT04 and Deus Ex differ exactly in the same level graphics and physics of UT04 differ from Deus Ex. In other words, they are two different engines.

If you had Derek's knowledge maybe you could convert them.

But still, i would do it myself, but unfortuently i have no modeling program 0,0

PS:
Then what version is DeusEx ripped off?

Deus Ex uses modified Unreal Engine 1, around builds 400-420; and its pretty close to Unreal Tournament 99/GOTY.

You will have troubles with converting UT04 model to DX also because of detail limits for models and size limits for textures.

Most likely if you have a converter at your disposal. ms3d2de, or unr2de or such like that.

Tell me how many polys and gimme either a .3ds or a .ms3d of the file and I'll import it for you.

Does it have animations, btw?

He cannot interfere with established events. (IE: What actually 'happened'.)

Torchwood was formed as a result of him interfering with an established event in the 1920's.

God. I thought everyone new that. ^_^. Interesting idea though. I can't watch any of the new series though, because I have to work from 6:30-10:30, on Saturdays, so I completely miss it. :(

I prefer the old Dr Who's better. Less flashy effects, and seemingly better storylines.

Because then there wouldn't be a show.

What a silly question.

Also, Torchwood was awesome. COME BAAAAAAACK. :(

Well, erm. Thanks for the offer cataclyzm. The model format is .3DS, but right now, i'm not sure if it is compatible with DX or not. I unfortuently do not know the amount of poly's it has. As i do not have a modelling program. Could you tell roughly from the model file size? XD

It's 793 kb in .3DS format. But still, Dalek's are quite smooth, so less polys, am i right ? =D
I'll send you the model file and the texture when you come over msn.
Also, the converters, are kinda fucked up for me. I tried the 3ds2de (a modified version of unr2de, and i think that fucked the model up a bit). But still i have the original

Mind you, i did get when trying to convert it a lot of labeling errors (You should know what i mean lol), saying that a certain part was not labeled with an id no. E.g Daleklaser should've been Daleklaser01. So, it skipped them, which obviously fucked the model up a bit? :P

P.S: These forum modifications own =D

WRONG!!! torchwood was formed because of something the doctor DID in the whenevers, but what it was he did WAS the established event, otherwise the royal family would be werewolves, we'd be in the space age by now (as he says in the episode), captain jack would be unemployed and torchwood would not exist, therefore the final battle episode could not be shown (it being centered around torchwood), neither could the destruction of the sycorax on christmas day, David would not be able to make many of his comments he makes in the episodes if CJ (lol) isn't a member of torchwood and a ton of CJ's tech would not exist, so he would be kinda helpless. So you see a lot of doctor who is founded partly on torchwood. the reason he cant save his race is explained in the episode where he and rose go back in time to when her father was still alive, and she saved him and the big red dragon-like creatures appeared and tried to destroy every living thing in the universe... that just explains why time travel is pointless doesn't it, you cant do anything without getting eaten by a giant dragon...
