Grab a gun - It's time for Midnight Sun

I'm just posting this to alert forum readers of the arrival of "Midnight Sun", a new zero aug UK server aimed at improving the quality of gaming withing the DX community, and aimed at bringing together those players who still want to keep this game afloat online.

The server will be open to any DX player who wants to play on it, but every player must register at www.midnightsun.exofire.net before playing, as then they have no excuse - they will see the server rules when they register, and they have to agree to them. Once agreed, the server's game password will be given.

This could be a good way of improving the quality of players in the server? I dunno, maybe nobody will bother visiting the site. Will see how it goes.

True. But they'd be making life difficult for themselves, as the whole point of registering for the server is to keep UP the quality of play.

If you're irresponsible enough to share the pass with any player n00b going, then chances are you're not the sort of person who would have bothered to goto the site anyway.

Having a password will reduce the amount of players dramatically, they'll just play on RTKM or so, good idea but the community isn't big enough to utilize effectively I feel.

Idea officially scrapped. Lol.

Still gonna get a server tho. Even if DXMP will never ressurect, I'm definitely going to be playing more now. New computer has given me a whole new experience in singleplayer. Just gotta sort out my internet issues (UK users - for fuck's sake give TalkTalk a very wide berth!) then I'll be back on DXMP.

Haha, TalkTalk... We changed from BT to TalkTalk, and honestly they are not worth the hastle. Trust me, BT is and will always be the best provider of the UK

I am gonna host a 0 aug server soon guys as soon as i get my new comp. Having 3gb ram and 500 gb hard drive is a good thing rite

Yep, but having about £40 is even better coz paid servers are generally much more consistent in terms of ping, reliability etc.
