how can i enter mtl multiplayer games?
i've tried downloading the mtl mod and followed all the intructions:
it installs but when i connect to a mtl game it gives me the same critical error as before (0 length packet or something similar) and crasches to win

what have i done wrong???
maybe the version i downloaded is not good, can you tell me a link to a good version (not from fileplanet.com please since i'm subscribed only to free gamespy)

If I remember correctly, MTL makes you edit your .ini lines. Go back and check each of them carefully and make sure that they are correct. If even one line is off, you may not be able to connect. The other alternative is to remove DX, reinstall the patches (except for MTL) then join an MTL game. It will cache MTL for you, although you won't be able to use the GUI start screen. Hope this helps...

i've tried redownloading mtl (last version from its site), install it and follow EVERY instruction in the readme.txt
but every time i connect to a mtl game i receive this error (the same i received before installing mtl)

p.s.: my deusex version is 1.112fm_l1 and my dxmtl version is 1.52b1
i also have installed zodiac and cassandra mods (i report this in case they make mtl not work)

I am at my limit, sorry man, I can't imterpret those things. If you do a fresh DX install and then d/l MTL from the server, you should be able to join MTL games. But you won't have access to the MTL functions in-game, like server spy.

Yeh, you need DXMTL if you want to setup server, not for usual playing. And one advice: DX engine (Unreal) is very strange one, GPF (General Protection Fault) is main fault in it (btw, it's not possible to fix it). If you have permanent crashes in the same moments (moment: for example, on joining game), try to re-install DX.

I usually GPF when using my medkit. I am in the middle of a hot and heavy fight, reach for my kit, hit fire and BAM, I'm outta there :lol:

Yes, this is very bad error. In Editor this very bad thing. I very often see them[Error]. It's make me :evil:

i've tried uninstalling deusex (plus cleaning any related file/registry key) but it doesn't work: entering a mtl server always gives a gpf!
now it can is my theory, but i think mtl doesn't work with deusex versions other than english ones (or maybe it hates my particular version, that is 112fm_l1 italian)

I really don't see any difference between italian and english patches in file structure. Only changing string preferences (lang) you won't change any program code of course.
Okey, try to dl english one patch and if it will work post here, please, i'll try to discover this problem then.

i don't think i'll download the english patch for 2 reasons:
1) i'm on a 56k line and if i can avoid downloading 10mbs, i do it!
2) i on't have the italian patch, my version is already shipped as 112fm because it buyed it with a megazine and it installs already patched and so on
tell me if you know any news

If you're still having the same problem try the AK forums. They are frequented by more people who might have had the same problem.
