Yet some fail to realize that.

This reminds me of the South Park episode I'm a Little Bit Country.

You guys have to realize that a mod means different things for people.

For us, it's a modification, in the literal sense.
For other players, it's corny, immature stuff that they don't want to ruin their serious competitive gameplay.

Not trying to be a dick or anything but you have to see this from both sides. Mods are alright but how many people want to play Counterstrike: Ultra Fun Zombie Edition with Unreal Weapons 2.0 ?

Come on.

You sound like players would be forced to play "Ultra fun Zombie Edition with Unreal Weapons 2.0".

Yeah but if it becomes the most popular server on the list, what would you do? Quit the game, realizing that majority of the players are younglings? Or protest on forums saying that they need to see the game in a respective, serious, competitive light?

I wouldn't want those younglings in "standard" gametypes anyway :P

Of course, although I was a bit let down by everyone abusing it to get 30 minute times by camping. I still prefer VS very much but Death Toll is far too long. Took us like 2 hours to complete it, I'm not even joking.

I was actually waiting for this update so that I could finally start playing VS, but the new mode seemed more intriguing especially with the new finale Last Stand. Pre patch to fix tank spawns some group supposedly got 3 hours, probably with exploits though. From the small amount of time I put in the most I got was around 14 minutes on Dead Air. The calm between some hordes are probably the most tense since we sometimes don't know if we should grab ammo/health/molotovs or stay put.

Ontopic though - I still find ATDM to be the most satisfying gametype, although maps/mods like Funline and the Bowen server were good alternatives, I just never felt compelled to truly play or take them seriously.

Edit: Also honestly forgot what DXAG gametype meant; is it the one with Stargate ish portals and the super rockets and stuff?

Deus Ex: ArxGenus. It's not my cup of tea personally, I prefer Team Fortress 2 for the same effect but this is mostly because I can't be bothered taking the time to get better in it.

It's just what you prefer, realy.

crapped maps

I suggest you check out the maplist at our server. You'll see that not all of the maps are crap (sure some are, but hey, read above). Take DXMP_Skyline for example. That map is just unbelievable, and so much better than Smuggles (IMO).

Every map on [FGS] server sucks. Especially Skyline is nothing but unplayable and shit.

Skyline is great, but too big for how many players there are today.

A 256x256 cube is too big for the amount of players there are at this moment.

Why do I feel like half the players in Deus Ex are either philosophers or scientists?

They played Deus Ex, a game with an incredibly in-depth storyline. They probably are.

Deus Ex made me read into philosophy.

I'm just aroused in anger when I have to sitdown and wait for 7 50mb mod packs (that don't exist, it's an example.. Don't rip on me for it) to download :loop to play in a map I sorta like to find out that my connection failed because that map is now finished and the server is now playing another map I have to download along with those same shady mods. goto loop

I can understand that. I usually give up myself if there's a shitload of mods on a server, unless I know what's on it and I want to play it.

It's impossible to tell with half the servers though, that's the problem.

(That's actually not a bad idea for another mod. Displaying what mods are on a server.)

It's a shame the majority of developers lack mentality these days.. Most reccent "YES" was in-game type switching with killzone 2.

At LEAST people could post their mods on a site so we can shove it in our folders eliminating waiting time to get into their server.
