You can still connect to all servers by IP address. I'm just listing the few I see people on before this happened, no offense to other hosts.

Nice, is any familar with those php scripts used to query servers? Surely we could adapt an Unreal one and host it on dxalpha.com? Possible advertising revenue gain maybe?

Just got an answer from GameSpy about the problem:

The Master Server Query is down due to some error, the time till its fixed is unknown to me. Just be patient please

master.dxmp.net half-works, its not showing all servers.

master.jmdeusex.co.cc is pointless, it shows nothing but jaja aug servers.

master0.gamespy.com is not working.

As of 9:20 PM mountain time ......

The servers are up!!! Only 3 people on right now.....but many servers on the list!!!!!

Yay! Was worried there for a bit the game may really have died. DX lives on

The only concrete alternative I know of is to use xfire's server list feature. All DX servers will show up with this.

Two out of three people begging for the game to receive a quiet departure only contributed to the game that I and my friends play with whining, grenade spam, and general cheating asshattery. Nobody misses you.

There is a time for every player to move on, denying the fun for others however is hypocritical at best.

Even if the official server goes down there is a chance some guys at gamespy forums will host the MS from their server like they did it with AvP2 that died last year, as I was surprised to find out.

Lets hope they fix this old dusty thing called Deus Ex among the other not that shiny and new titles they have borked recently. If it takes them ~2 days to do the maintenance then one can only guess how long it takes them to fix errors.

I say a lot of bad things about DXMP. A lot more than any other person here. However, I do want the game to keep going. I'd like people to witness past, present and future states of our community just to know how a game with 50 players average in it's golden years grew and that people need to at least try a round at least once when they discover Deus Ex' singleplayer.

I couldn't care less about the obnoxious Spanish players etc, the negative quality of the community doesn't concern me because they still deserve a chance to have the experience we had even if we deem it lesser or shit. We don't have that arbitrary right to let the game die, Gamespy do though, and even then there will always be a masterserver if someone cares.

It's a global GameSpy problem. Just wondering how much time they will take to solve it.

Hello all,

GameSpy is aware of the problem that no ones game servers are showing up when they go to play their GameSpy supported game. The GameSpy Techies have been notified of the problem. The GameSpy Volunteers(Helpers, Wizards, and Guardians) are going around creating a list of which games have been affected by the Master Server Query and will be giving this list to the GameSpy Techies. The estimated time for this is unknown to us as we are still collecting game's that are experiencing problems. So please be patient and I am sure this problem will be solved soon.

DX is easily the greatest game ever made, its sequel might have scarred its reputation but as long as there is as much as 1 other player playing i will be with it.

i just tweaked the ipdrv files of the masterserver to the ORIGINAL Deus Ex one instead of the nepthys one, the FGS servers which are uplinking to it now show. the others up there still get rejected... an odd UCC bug :/

Nice post James, you pretty much summed it up for those of us who enjoy DX and seek to keep it alive. Can you get that thumbs up/down system (like on youtube) in phpbb2? That would come in handy

Dudes, I think the GameSpy's master server issue is fixed, my DeusEx game is successfully receiving the servers list from master0.gamespy.com .

I guess the server maintenance time was in this afternoon, because master0.gamespy.com uplinked the dx servers informations for some minutes, then it got completely offline. Now it seems stable again and it's working 100% here.

It's back!
