Map Submitions for DXU Server (Coming Soon)

Currently we have 7 maps of our own ready to put on the server, but we also accept other people's maps as well, so, if you want your map to be on the server just email them to the address at the bottom.


Map Requirements
--------------------------

-Gotta be BRAND NEW (Never hosted on a server ONCE)

-Fighting Map

-No Original Items, Weapons, etc. (skilled tools are ok)

-Cant have anything that show Unatco, MJ12, etc.

-Its optional that you can include who made the map

-You CAN modify an original DXMP Map that comes with Deus Ex, but if you do, be sure to Modify it ALOT! lol

-If you include any specific person from the original game (anna navarre, gunther hermann, etc.) be sure to retexture them and rename them.

-When you send it, be sure to name it "DXU_<mapname>" instead of "DXMP_<mapname>" if your forget, its okay we'll fix it.

[b] This is not a "You have to do this" kinda thing, Im just saying IF you want to make a map and send it, then great! If you dont like the idea, the "back" button is in the top left corner of the screen. You can suggest something if you want, I'm totally open for discussion.

Seems rather silly rules. You're essentially asking people to dedicate time to making maps from scratch for your server alone. What makes your server so special compared to the dozens of others? It may sound harsh but it seems like you're asking for so much, yet giving so little back.

Thats not it at all, its not just MY server, IM NOT HOSTING THE SERVER...... I got a team of people helping to make this server. Im not asking for as much as you think. We've pretty much got enough levels for the server to start out, but thats only 7 maps, just a LITTLE help would be nice thats all

The main concept is just for people to experience other peoples editing work. and not just maps, mods, meshes, everything

That's what DX is already about; the game is rank with it. Most user maps are absolute nonsense and encouraging more on the timespan of hosting it within the transient time your server will be up will make them quarter-assed. Ingrates such as me will discourage the fuss of it all.

I must also point something else out here. You need to outline a specific set of mods that people are permitted to use on the maps that you want on your server... Else you'll have lots and lots of mods on your server - people don't like sitting and downloading for several years.

hahah you got a point, we'll probably just pick the best 5 or 6 mods. what mods do you want the server to include?

I get it now, mod doesn't need to be new, but the map does.

Your enthusiasm is very cool and constructive, you can see why threads are good for feedback, not everyone will think it's a great idea, or some other necessity turns out greater than the one you planned etc.
