A cheater can be an aimbotter, yet also someone health hacking, aug hacking, firerate hacking, and so on.

Well anyway, cheating depends on what you mean by cheating. My view cheating is in a multiplayer game, anything which downgrades the experience for other players.
Annoying someone in the chat qualifies if your trying to win by putting people off what they are doing.

Cheating is gaining an unfair advantage over other players.

there definitely is cheaters, and i dont hesitate to call them out. i think everyone should. when i see someone who owns the map with 50+ kills and a couple deaths, its rediculous and i dont even see where the fun is in that. no ones getting paid here. it just ruins it for the rest of us who play fair.

Uh... 50+ kills and very few deaths doesn't mean he's cheating. That's the common misconception with "cheating" on games now. Sometimes it's incredibly difficult to differentiate a cheater between a good player.

There are gamers out there who CAN get a ton of kills with very little deaths, they played and practised to be able to do it. And a lot of them get called cheaters. Of course, on the other hand is the cheaters, and like I said, it's hard for a normal player to differentiate the two.

Btw, some of the gamers who are that good get paid for their "hard work". I call it professional gaming, other people have a different meaning for the term (much like asking a gamer their definition of a hardcore gamer).

Last time I played DXMP several weeks ago, in my first game after a 11 months break, I had a ~50/15 score, and someone repeatedly spammed accusing me in cheating. This was absolutely ridiculous, because I missed many shots due to not being used to DX mouse movement anymore after CS:S.

Maybe you really saw a cheater — I don't know. But in this game, in 90% cases it's just skill. DXMP has always been a game with a huge gap between newbies and veterans, please keep that in mind.

That I will definitely agree with. I don't think it's just Deus Ex though.

With most FPS games, unless you've been playing since the dawn of time you may not get better. This isn't to say you won't, it's just to say that the persistance and determination needed to get better could probably be better wasted on something more productive.

I play TF2 because, for some reason, it's the easiest FPS I've ever played multiplayer. I still suck versus anyone with the actual skill to aim well and use their role well but there's a lot of average players on it (like myself), so I can still at least feel some sence of accomplishment when I kill even a few people lol.

On Deus Ex, I just sucked. I was really bad at keybinding, didn't have many tactics and the vets always fucking owned me lol. I might do better at it now than 4 years ago but there's no real point, what with hardly any people playing and my lack of motivation to play.

F that, this isnt Halo here. who really boasts about a game thats 9 years old and a total of 50 steady ppl worldwide play. get a grip, i love dx as much as the next guy but face reality, a 9 yr old game will be subject to hackers/cheaters. face the facts.
