I'm interested why did you put the GODZ realistic rifle on? Now the sniper rifle got a default name but the damage is still the same. One shot with a scope even to a toe of left leg will result a death of the victimThere are a few issues about it:
- mine and every other european player's ping is above 250 (mine is ~300-350). That's why i prefer having close range battles because sniping with this ping is possible, but really really HARD. This gives a huge advantage to Americans, because to snipe in any part of the body with an average ping of 130 (and sometimes i see people with a ping of 50!!) is really nothing to do: is this player experienced or just started playing the game. I'm fine that they have a ping advantage, it's always like that on any server, but this rifle increased a unfairness of the game by like 10 times.
- on HorizonBeach from time to time the game looks like a slaughter. Because one team spawns in a place with sniper rifle, and the other - without. They just stand still and i can't do anything with that. I can't get 20mm, i can't run into sewer to get in the base. When sniper rifle was normal, it was harder to snipe me for enemies, so i could reach the sewer or a room with 20mm in at least 50% of cases
- i've tryed a lot of multiplayer games but i still prefer Deus Ex. There are several reasons, but the main is that its quite hard to get a one shot kill (especially in augs). Difficulty of one-shot killing brought long and exciting battles in close combat and it made so experience matters more than luck unlike in the rest of the games. Now its all about luck. The person who shoot first, wins. I'm sure you know how it feels! I've been playing since 2000 (like you, i guess) and now its like my experience costs nothing!

I put in the realistic sniper rifle to balance the game so the newer players would have less of a tendency to quit when facing opponents that abuse the characteristics of the 3x scope to use it in melee fights. Increasing abuse of the 3x scope has spawned the need to balance the game to keep people playing dx. Many people with higher pings were complaining that they had no chance whatsoever in close combat if this issue was not resolved. Complaints were pouring in that this was the only game in the world that you did not die when you got hit directly in the heart. All snipers and hunter know that a heart shot if fatal... many many people were complaining that they were hitting people directly in the heart and they weren't dieing. For you and I this doesn't seem to be a problem but for the new players that have never played this game before, hitting some one in the heart with a 3x damage scope should obviously kill them. when it doesn't kill them they leave and proclaim to all there friends that DX is full of cheaters and we are all running around with god mode on....In order to increase our base of players in the community I have leveled the playing field somewhat. I realize that a hit in the foot should not be fatal but the models pain zones don't allow for more specific injury zones. If I could I would re create the dx models to have body organ zones of different damage but I just don't have the time to attempt to do these sort of things. but just in the case that you did not notice a flesh wound with this rifle will not kill you it must be a direct hit. Have you noticed that some times you turn yellow or red with out dyeing? So the damage is not 100% every time you get hit ,only on good solid hits.
