A note on DTS.... While I'm no expert /w it, almost exclusive use of it over a couple of years has made somethings apparent to me.

1. A DTS can be used /w high pings. You can lead a target with a DTS just like a rifle, it just takes a little observation when you're hacking away. Not full proof, but possible. Although I have a high speed connection, it's iffy at best and my living on the west coast of NA situates me far from most augs servers which are traditionally east coast.

2. A DTS can be used on a big map, but pick your fights. A smart opponent will keep well away from you, but if they're aggressive see if they'll follow you into a smaller space. This drastically improves your odds of killing someone.

3. I prefer not to use targetting with DTS. You ARE going miss DTS swings. Having ballistic gives you that extra time to connect.

4. I think the DTS is enormous fun to play with. It can be challenging and strategy oriented if you want; manipulating players into fight situations that favour you. It's also a great weapon to run in screaming with. You don't have to think much, just point and hold down left mouse button.

Ah yeah, about the guide. Many have been written, but few live up to Locke's guide. Maybe someone's mentioned here already, but aspiring auggers should give it a read. Some of the stuff is probably a bit dated now, but it's a diverting read.

As someone said, the best way to is keep any of the above in mind, but find a playing style that suits you personally.

Yeah I just played fucking well using that style.

One of the best things a cloaker can use is his ears, I never really bothered until I saw mirage. The guys awesome at listening for people, man it comes in handy.

Ahh I see. It's a well explained guide. A little outdated but a good read.

You could add that with dts you have to feel the weapon rather than just trying to smack with it on the oponents head. What I mean is that you can get rather weird kills with dts from quite a distance at times. The blade damage moves in a different way compared to the animation I would say. What I do is that I imagine a sphere around me as I turn and basically i would get a kill the enemy cannot expect. Try it out.

Dts is definately fun and for some its the best way of getting kills on small maps. Since you are vourneable with meleeweapons against rifler the bally would be a must.

And yes it definately works with high pings aswell =)
