What happened to DX?

Postby ~SaSQuAtCH~ » Sun Jun 17, 07 8:23 pm

I can't get the list of servers when I enter DX, I checked, my net is good, and one of my dudes has the same problem...master system down?

Just so you know, Ben, at IGN as informed me that there're no plans at current to remove DX from the masterserver.

It's popular though. And DX being on a popular program means more players for Deus Ex. And more players for Deus Ex means more people making it keep alive. All in all, DX being on Steam helps.

this is why I am angry with some aug and custom servers atm, particularly the mappers and players too. If you have Steam, I would assume you are fairly serious about gaming as a hobby. If you are fairly serious about gaming and arrive on your first day in DX and all u see populated, is laggy-arse server with donkey-speed download of maps that are actually worse in gameplay and gfx to existing Steam games, you might want your money back... off-topic a little but about servers...

Plz everyone don't put stuff online which is unfinished to the point of unplayable, naming no names but a certain server very high on the list has a spwn in which you will get trapped if u don't have 2! multitools, while the mapper thought it fun to put 4 LAWS, unlocked on a roof overlooking the enemy spwn. Another server, does the same thing, but its even worse cos its an augged server, so you grab your LAW from the spwnroom with max skills already and no need to find the LAW or use your lockpick to access it, you speed over to the enemy and LAW them in their spwnroom...

not DXMP, not even MP i would say... just noobs... yeah tell the noobs about mmcity hell yeah! Plz host stuff which is including movable objects like crates or tnt, lockpicking, multi-tooling, DXMP stuff basically, or stuff of the same quality as mmcity or DXSG or DXAG etc...and this shit has totally got to stop altogether...but perhaps I should be saying this on the other forums...

referring to name of server and impersonations, not Alex's map...

That Nobody's server is real - they are testing things for FLCity. Besides, the map is just a map to test conversations, hence its name - 'Conv_testFL'

There is no impersonation going on, so don't make assumptions based on what you do not know.

Oh, I don't even notice that anymore. It says GODZ in many of his programs, mods, even in Stargate.

anyway, the server didn't mean to appear there and it won't appear anymore

Doesnt Steam have some statistics somewhere that could tell exactly how many people play dx/dxmp off Steam?

I don't think Steam will ever make sense... Why would Steam users bother with DX?

Depends. It matters if you are already a DX fella or still a DX newb.

Well, I class myself as the latter - a DX newb even though I've owned the game for like 2-3 years now. But I hardly play DXMP anyway. I just repeat SP over and over again - usually killing random people.

Yes, I do know the basics as I was taught how to use Augmentations properly and Augmentation Management for DXMP. And yes, I like Deus Ex. I wouldn't have played it 7+ (and finished) if I didn't lol.
