Sequel Speculation

Postby Tonnochi » Thu Nov 29, 07 2:28 am

1. Helios/Humanity Merge

2. Templar (Most likely for DX3, from the collage)

3. Illuminati (SO easy to merge, all they have to do is be dumb as fuck like they were in Invisible War and don't mention Everett/Dowd, all they have to do is forget about DuClare/Dumier)

4. Omar Overthrow

Give your opinions boys, how are they going to do this?

Extremely unlikely, each one ends the series.

Yeah, and the Helios ending makes NO sence. Not with the images. "No Augs?" when everyone is fused with Helios? Meh...

Not Templar and DEFINITELY not Illuminati.

I think I'm actually just in denial because I would hate for it to be a prequel. There would only be a small scrap of potential story behind a prequel, and it would have to be entirely political, with some silly dramatic ending in which you see JC. How awful.

Not necessarily. It could be the start of the augmentation-era, with Paul. And remember - he went to NSF, so we could learn about that.

If it were a prequel, I'd love it to end with Paul going to Hong Kong.

Actually, at this point, I'd LOVE to put together a noir style short film depicting a Paul Denton prequel. It could be that YouTube project I was doing.

I wouldn't like a Paul Denton prequel, maybe a Paul Denton mod but Paul didn't really do much.

If it is a prequel, the protagonist's canon ending will be a fight he will lose, only possibly to secure a better future.

That'd be epic. Or what if you got to GO to Hong Kong lol (would be two late really, it'd have to mean JC was "born").

Have you guys ever read Starcraft: Liberty's Crusade? It was fucking amazing how they synced Mike Liberty's story with Starcraft, him being there during the entire story, but conveniently invisible during cinematic sequences. Maybe an inappropriate analogy, but it's like in Beowulf when he's walking around nude and there's something perfectly in the way. Maybe they'd do something like that in Deus Ex 3.

It's not No Augs, its EVERYONE has them.

So everyone is equal.

Anywho, In an ideal world, I'd like Eidos to pretend that Deus Ex 2 never actually happened, and for them to do it properly.

The story in Deus Ex 2 no matter how you slice it was completely predictable, whereas when I first played Deus Ex through, I remember being incited with actual hate for UNATCO, few games can do that.

Huh? I never said they had No Augs... That's the fucking Templar ending (bastards). I was referring to the image where some guy was holding up a sign saying "No Augs" in the teaser trailer.

It was the idea, the company you start off with is the company to stay with.
It was a smart idea to be frank, because you got to admit when you find Paul and he explains and apologies for using you for JC etc, you couldn't be more clear about it.
It is the opposite of DX1, and its intended.

I think that the Paul Denton prequel would be a disappointment mainly because we already know him. To me, It's much more satisfying to have a prequel that introduces new information.

Think about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. That came before everything else on the Star Wars timeline, and it was a great game because they didn't try to connect it to the existing timeline.

Some regard KOTOR to be better than the Vader story.

Isn't this thread called Sequel Speculation?

Supposedly, if this is a Templar sequel, then you're going to be most likely in an underground organization thing, or you will have the option to spy for the Templars for some "holy pardon" or some stupid typical shit like that.

If this isn't, then it is a prequel, and that'll be sorta sexy. I shiver at the thought of being a mech-aug.

I want to be a mech-aug. See how Gunther and Anna got their start towards the end of the game, maybe?
