First-person or Third-person?

I was thinking about this, and I would love for it to be third-person. I've been playing a lot of third person games lately and I've been trying to play DX in third-person.

I think this is ridiculous. People would flip their shit if it was a TPS.

I'd prefer DX as a FPS.
If you want more RPG than action, yet keeps the style of DX, KOTOR.

FPS of course.
Though it would be great if you can switch between the two, like in Rainbow Six Vegas when you're taking cover.

Third person and the player becomes JC, First Person and JC becomes the player.

I like 1st person, but a toggle would be cool.

It'll be better if there were less FPS games that uses TPS when covering, its kind of cheating.
I'd prefer a cover option to eavesdrop on conversations for passcodes and adding more stealth in the game rather than old school crouching and STEALTH CAMOUFLAGE cheating. And the ability to peak if you hold in the direction key, which could lead to your discovery if someone is looking directly your way.

Woops, I thought you meant what game style we like in general so I went TP lol. But DX should be a FPS...

TPS would be better for consoles than FPS.
For PC's I prefer FPS.

DX should move further into the ways of FPA camera control as Condemned, COD4 Bioshock later on, if you played these games you'd know what I'm talking about, they're a revolution in movement because your character doesn't feel static and in the same place, the camera bops realistically when you run, if you get knocked down your perspective shows your fall through the yes (people in charge of animation must of had a fun time doing this), when you use melee your perspective shakes as if you're using your full strength to swing.
That kind of stuff.

I've played both and both seem to be an "upgraded" FPS for me

Condemned is possibly the most realistic game I've ever played in terms of camera movement.

The only games I really like to play in Third-Person anyway, are games like The Forgotten Realms series and any "medieval" based game. I prefer First-Person for shooters. That's kind of the reason why I like yet dislike The Elder Scrolls series (from Morrowind and up) - it's an FPS hack and slash. It just doesn't suit me.

It has to be FPS!
We need something like DX3 to put the newboys in their place.
Oh the irony. DX3 might just show back up on FPS scene, state it's been around since 2000 and say it's been a vet since the beginning and that there's only one gametype (FPS/RPG) that should be played and that the rest are all just losers for going with the easy gametype.

Yeah I always thought that, even though its a hybrid is a very fun and action packed FPS on its own.
I'd rather call it FPA though because you're really not forced to use any projectile weapons ever in the game, you can simply drop every gun.

DX1 had camera bob.

Yeah, also the weapons had BobDamping which can be modified to make the weapon move back and forth as you run.

So did most games, including Doom, but it just felt like it was going up and down, up and down, not really bobbing just a simple trick, although it could of been revolutionary at the time.
But a realistic action was healthy taken with CoD4 with a totally believable sprint.

Have you played COD3?
When you reload some weapons like the Garand, the camera rushes back and forth depending on movement, for example loading the clip into the Garand makes a quick dash of the camera. Plus everything's blurred besides the gun as you reload.
Doesn't happen in COD4 though, I guess the modern soldier doesn't really need to look at his gun to know how to reload it.
That would be a nifty feature in DX3 though.

Yes, readied magazines and bolts etc aren't as a hassle I guess.
COD3 is a dim game compared to COD4 and COD2.
