*facepalm*

Why facepalm? They're right. I've been repeating myself all week about this:

Deus Ex was slow in the combat area, and not very satisfying for most players. As a standalone single player FPS Deus Ex is very weak, and opponents are scarce and few.

It was a simulation rather than a game.

GTR 2 is simulation
I do not want GTR 3 to be NFS:GTR.

Also Jay, you need to stop trolling, it doesn't suit you.

A standalone SP FPS Deus Ex is weak? What the dicks are you smoking.

I don't ever troll, what the Hell? I'm just saying that Deus Ex was a very weak FPS.

If it was just a FPS it wouldn't of been as famous. Deus Ex 2 improves on the combat by a long shot gives you a satisfaction with the amount of targets you get to kill. With only setbacks such as universal ammo and some might say that your combat inventory may be a little less fun.

But the point is; Deus Ex: Invisible War may be a better shooter, but it isn't a better Deus Ex. It's the same as Silent Hill Homecoming, better game, shittier Silent Hill elements.

Skill-oriented tactical situation response simulator.

FPS combat can be chosen to be a weak element of the game or a strong one. It depends on the player.

But the FPS combat itself is weak indeed. Apart from adding non-visual upgrades to the guns, there is no iron sights, very limited amounts of weapons for each weapon type (I can't believe they would bunch shotguns with the Rifle skill), and a couple of overpowered futuristic weapons such as the Gep Gun or the Plasma Rifle that makes players totally forget about other weapons. Opponents run around and crouch, never taking cover or blindfiring.

It may not be you or me or any other players, but the average player would totally forget about the FPS element of the game once they got ahold of the Dragon's Tooth.

I didn't use the DTS much. I treated Deus Ex like many of my RPG's because quite frankly, the FPS system was incredibly weak. The only time I usually killed someone was when I absolutely had to. And I'd usually just snipe them.

Show me a better FPS from 1999 with a storyline and I shall believe you :)

This is all fine and good for modern day, but FPS' then and now are different animals for the most part, except for the few obvious exceptions, such as Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, etc.

Non visual upgrades to guns? I can't recall more than one that even had a gun upgrading system. Let alone visual upgrades to it.

Fair do's on the iron sights.

Blindfire wasn't around until 2003 when Kill.Switch came out.

You seriously think in terms of FPS tactical combat, DX is the better choice?

Blindfire wasn't around until 2003 when Kill.Switch came out.

I know but still, there were better FPS shooters when DX was around. I'm just saying that to compare people who think DX is the best FPS around.

DX is far not the best FPS around but I wouldn't say it's worse than Rainbow Six

Deus Ex 3 will be bad to all of us, simply for the fact that it isn't Deus Ex 1. To someone whos not a diehard fan, then it has every chance of being a good game.

From 1999?, and a better FPS and an equaly great videogame plot? System Shock 2. System Shock 2 satisfies combat and customization a lot better than Deus Ex. But it has no roleplay.

This, very true to my first play-through especially when using the DTS.

I recently completed ZODIAC again and the Handgun was all I used throughout, every fight ended in one hit kills with little or no detection. How can this ever be satisfying?

DXSP a weak shooter? Not every shooter has to have 30 zombies crawling towards you in a small tunnel. Any more enemies in those small maps wouldve ruined the atmosphere.
