I found this topic rather interesting. Especially this part. Now I'm not overly concerned, because I'll wait for the game to come out, buy it, play it and THEN make my final judgement.

But I rather enjoy speculating. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't know myself, because it doesn't look BAD as far as I'm concerned. But it does look rather cheap if all they've done is based their game off of something else and based it off something else in major aspects (such as style).

I also wouldn't know mainly because I've never watched GitS. Just heard about it (from what I hear it's pretty good). I just found the debate/speculation that it COULD be based heavily off something else rather interesting.

Will basing Deus Ex 3 off an already existing product be it's downfall? Probably not. Sure the environment may be similar but ultimately, the storylines should be different. I'd start having problems if those two things are far too alike however.

Absolutley nothing, a better question would be: Why give such a surreal style to Deus Ex.

But then people forget BIG MECHS and JAPANESE BATTLE ARMOUR, despite DX not being major influenced by the Japanese or even at all. You cannot deny similarities in the series that are very similar to Ghost in the Shell already.
