Regenerating Health: Sooo... what do we think?

They said it would be slow. SLOW.

It ain't.

Never played any games with regenerating health before though, I don't play shooters usually.

Opinions please.

PS: I knoes it is an early build, but hypothetically-speaking if the final release was like this what do you all think.

A lot of games regenerate your health in seconds

Call of duty series
Portal series
I'm sure there's more

How long does it take in dxhr atm?

Sam Fisher is a little bitch.. Agent 47 doesn't regenerate health, because he's a fucking badass.

On a related note, it better be SLOW AS FUCK regenerative health.

IF there are medpacks in the game, I'll certainly be finding some way to disable regen, to make the game feel more like the original.

There are games that contain medpacks, and have slow regenerative health.

Yes. Or sometimes health that doesn't regenerate fully, but partially

I've seen medpacks for partially regenerating health (Resistance) but never medpacks with all regenerating health.

No more times like...

You want a medkit?

Yeah I'll take a medkit.

Exactly.

Let's hope it's one or the other.

-because I can't stand full regenerative health in quite a few games, and I CERTAINLY won't like it in DX3.

Resistance isn't the only one.

I actually wouldn't mind if the regen were like Killzone's, where you were only regen-healed a certain amount depending on how badly you were hurt while fighting. In doing this, Guerilla not only implemented a good regen, but also left options left over to the medic role, and the administration of health packs.

I prefer to move around on my hands searching a medikit, because that goddamned unatco soldier shot a GEP on my kneel, than run, shoot, take damage, hide, regen hp, run...

It's called citing a prime example, it does not include every single game that's every included partially regenerating health...

And you still haven't cited any examples of a game with FULLY regen health AND a medpack system.

Good call.. This is one example of regen amongst other factors that increase your health.

If you play it on 'Give Me Deus Ex' it seems to take a fair while to regen again. Never had a problem with it.

What interests me more is the energy pips, does the first pip regen quickly or slowly?

PostPosted: Fri Jun 10, 11 9:28 pm

I'd imagine that the first is fast while the others regen slow, slower, slowest.

EDIT: You know what? I won't mind the regen if they include it as a standard augmentation like the flashlight.

i wonder if the red blood all over your face when close to death is annoying or good. Seemed quite useful in MW2.

Regen figures for DX3 vary according to difficulty level. Trying to find the note given from the game designer to Kyle that was posted up, listing each regen figures.

I think it was roughly 6 to 7.5 seconds delay and upto 26 seconds full regeneration on hardest level, something like that.

Even without medkits there seems to be still reasons to backtrack though.

I'll time it when I go down to the pc I have HR installed on.

I must admit the more I play the more I noticed how it doesn't really get annoying. Can confirm no medkits though.

FUCK.

At least the regen is slow though :/

Come to think of it.. Regen makes sense in that time era. If people are advanced enough to turn invisible, etc. It would only make sense to have nanotech that restores tissue, and cells.

No, DX3 is set before DX1 i.e. before nanotech that works with the human body.

Aghh, I keep forgetting it's a prequel.

I think they should include a type of vial that acts as both a medkit AND regen.

You can collect up to say.. 4 or 5. Regen only works for so long as the fluid rushes into your body, then when the vial is empty, it switches to the next.

When you are out of vials, you can no longer regen.
