DX:HR Bugs

Postby Aidan » Wed Aug 24, 11 11:44 pm

So aside from the game being absolutely astonishing, there are numerous bugs and such you will notice until a new patch is released.

This includes:

-Random Crashing
-Stuttering
-Mouse Lag
-Slow Loading Times (I'm pretty sure that a patch can only fix this one)

If you are experiencing these issues, I would suggest the following, until Eidos/Nixxes has them addressed...

-Disable DirectX 11 (Most of the crashing issues are due to poor DX11 Optimization)

-Enable Tripple Buffering

-Fiddle with your V-Sync toggle, and see which works best (on/off).

These three options have worked for most people (somewhat, if not completely).

We all know that Eidos/Nixxes will get right on this. They've already released one patch, and the next could solve these issues.

*I know we'd all love the game to be problem-less at launch, but shit happens, and at least it wasn't near as bad as Obsidian with New Vegas*

EDIT: Today, I am not noticing anything other than long load times, and very minor stuttering while playing. Eidos/Nixxes may have fixed these issues and released the update today while I was at work. yay! :D

Ah good news, hope the long loading times get fixed. But then again, it's not much of an issue for me. I got used to the loading times from the leak.

So everything is now fixed EXCEPT FOR occasional random crashing.

Everything else is now fine with the game due to an almost-instant-patch that eidos/nixxes had released yesterday.

On a side note, they said the update has fixed the long loading issue, and has cut the time by %50.

Fast loading

1 crash after 5 hours
Screentearing
Texture/brush cutting at times, like a transparent pixel line that follows you that cuts through the world.

Slowdown at times when loading new levels (prominently through cutscenes, when it loads the next level), but due to streaming nature of the stupid files.

I'm getting a "shadow" effect because of "enable triple buffering", it makes everything appear bigger, duplicate and causes the further away duplicate to be like a shadow or silver model effect.

Turn triple buffering off if you get this, fixes it perfectly, thats with ATI 6900 series

Not particularly bugs but more annoyances. The camera range of detection far exceeds the green cone it projects, can be pretty annoying.

As well I'm disappointed in the lack of objects to collect/find, when I go up a ladder I don't need to then along a long tunnel/corridor that ends in a dead end, I expect to gain something in an RPG, not just have my time wasted. But I'm only a short way in so it might pick up.

Enjoying it so far, although I went stealth + stunprod path, clearing a room with 6 people was quite difficult with no non lethal guns. (o bought the non lethal rifle now)

I've experienced no issues to be honest, I'm running it on the highest DX10 settings (GTX285 has no DX11 :( ).

@Kaiden;

There are alot of things to find, including special weapons and gear. However the key to finding out where they are is to observe and listen in on peoples conversations.

I could tell you specifics, but spoilers are bad :P

RE: weapons
I asked Klop, allegedly there's a GEP gun somewhere.

I just picked up a cooling system upgrade for the heavy rifle, it applies for a plasma rifle aswell. Wonder if it'll be any good.
There's a "plasma lance" which is the lazer that shoots through walls, we saw it in a trailer a while ago.

Bought. Played.

NOT amused. My Radeon 5770 still really struggling with it.

Tried many combos of DX10/11 tess on/off vsync on/off triple b'ing on/off etc etc etc etc et fucking c... and it still runs shit.

Textures blurry.

Good game though, and a bit better than the beta.

You're having poor performence without DX11 enabled?

I have a GTX285 running it on the highest DX10 settings without any issues @ 1680 x 1050. I've not encountered any bugs or graphical hitches either. What are your other system specifications and are your drivers up to date?

Poor performance full stop. My PC should be able to play it on full spec! I know my graphics card is a little shit but everything else is brilliant.

Gonna try it with my old GeForce 9800GTX+ as it gives the same performance inside a much older rig, might even perform better in a newer one I dunno.

It's DX so it's worth an upgrade, might just quit moaning and upgrade.

Shinobi, it sounds like you have other parts bottlenecking your performance.

What are your current specs?

May only occur in DRB

Basically jump down a sewer hatch and then grab the ladder quickly (i did this when people were alarmed or hostile up top).

It loads the top area, but not the sewer area you are in, i managed to blindly wander far back.

Its actually quite interesting, especially when you see the active sky train

Yeahh, I've had people float about but quickly return to their position. I even had the 2nd boss(forgot her name) just kind of freeze, she would keep running after me but after a few times around the walls I ran into the back of her and she just stood there and took no notice of me. So obviously I got my gun out gunned her down.

Lucky guy.. I've had some but it happens rarely and only for a fraction of a second. It makes me question my sanity at times.

Why does "automatic inventory management" turn itself back on every time you start the game =/ Pretty annoying as I like having an inventory where I know where stuff is! And then you pick up one thing with it enabled and it shuffles your entire inventory for no reason.

Inventory management didn't keep turning on for other people. Maybe you are playing on a lower difficulty, or didn't save after turning it off.

Hm could just be a bug. I'm on hard or whatever it's called and I've deff saved it since disabling it. Just when I close the game it's back on again, no idea as it saves the other settings.
