Choose two options you'll want in real life

YOU CAN CHOOSE TWO FROM THIS LIST
(No risk of rejection reactions, no daily drugs required. 6-monthly checkups and firmware updates are recommended but not mandatory. All augs are certified for twenty years use before requiring replacement. If you have your organic parts removed, you cannot have them replaced).

    1) Augmented eyeballs. At a glance, they look identical to normal eyes, and you can change the colour of your iris at will. View modes include normal, image intensifying and thermal night vision modes and a 15x optical and 50x digital zoom. You can take photos or videos, in either 2D or 3D, which will be saved to a discreet flash drive socket behind your ear.
    2) The CASIE social aug.
    3) Augmented prosthetic arms, with the strength aug and hidden blades built in.
    4) An augmented prosthetic heart and lungs, providing unparalleled levels of cardiopulmonary fitness and negating your risk of developing heart or lung diseases.
    5) A prosthetic stomach and intestinal tract with a neural link to the hypothalamic satiety centre, designed to absorb the nutrients your body requires and discard the rest, preventing weight gain. This augmentation can be tuned to allow for extra muscle growth, weight loss etc. Discarded food is dehydrated and compressed into sanitary pellets.
    6) Augmented prosthetic legs, allowing you to sprint faster, jump higher and land softer than any unaugmented human.
    7) The invisibility augmentation, capable of sustaining invisibility for ten seconds with a thirty second cooldown.
    8) Augmented hands with unparalleled dexterity and a flash drive slot for uploading motor-memory programs. This will not turn you into a legendary musician or painter overnight, but it will allow you to learn such skills much faster.
    9) $500,000 USD
    10) $500,000 USD

Assuming you are able to replace them at the end of 20 years
Assuming noone else in the world will recieve them

Eyes are pointless unless you are afraid of going blind, since all of their features can be replicated with handheld technology.
CASIE is ok, but I don't want to manipulate everyone around me. 's pretty evil
Augmented arms, I'd rather not lose feeling in my hands.
Prosthetic legs, I'd rather not lose feeling in my legs.
Invisibilty, 10 seconds isn't enough to do anything
Augmented hands, see augmented arms
2x$500,000, the two augs below are worth much more

Augmented heart and lungs. Extends your lifespan, extreme fitness, no downsides. Yes please.
Augmented stomach. Never become fat, eat whatever you want, combined with augmented lungs, extremely easy to get hench. Yes please.

Personally I agree fully with Baleout's post.

You see though.. I wouldn't mind loosing feeling in my body parts. Not to mention that newer arms and legs down the road could have the capability for the sense of 'feel'.

I would go with 3/6 and 7.

But losing your hands would be losing the most sensitive place on your body... plus we use them everyday in life.

Is losing the sense of feel in two of the most important parts of your body for better arms/hands really a true upgrade?

Here's a cynical way of looking at each and deciding which is best.

If EMP actually was realistic, and shuts down any electronic systems.

1) You go blind.
2) At best nothing, at worst you turn into a sociopath.
3) Your arms weigh you down and you collapse on the floor considering the weight.
4) You die.
5) At best you can't digest anything until it's rebooted, at worst...
6) Same as arms.
7) You are visible...
8 ) Your hands are an extra weight, causing you to be in a "weight-training" situation, where you can only hold your arms at your side and there's a constant strain on your shoulders.

Forget 9 and 10 (USD)

I would pick 7 for sure, and maybe 2 or 5 depending on how the "worst case scenario" is handled.

It's not.. but I'd choose option 9 or 10 to invest in it's development, or something to that effect.

Yeah, but my comment wasn't direct.

In general, if there is an EMP-Resist Aug down the road, then it simply wouldn't matter.

EMP Resist aug is basically like coating your skin in an anti-electrostatic material.

Realistic emp targets electronic devices on and off, and doesn't just fry your electrics for like 5 seconds, it shuts them down until you get another source of energy.

HOWEVER

DX:HR, has some kind of bio-energy similar to dx1 right? Not sure how this functions...
