Deus Ex: The MMO.

I'm going to laugh like hell if that's what it is.

Deus Ex Universe is probably some kind of farmville type of stuff for FB or small portables, instead of being a generic pc-console mmo; or perhaps just some comics or novels series. Deus Ex MMO would work out fairly nice even if it'd turn out quite generic, but I cannot see them in their right mind actually going through with it.

Neither can I, it'd just be funny as hell to see that can of worms opened.

ALSO, I've talked to people who have played the fall. It's "alright." Nothing special, but the worst part is that the story stops halfway through which suggest episodic content.

Fuck You Montreal. First Deus Ex, now Thief, and there was another game as well I can't quite remember at the moment.

Square Enix did warn us.

Good point. I'm keeping my hopes extremely low for the future of the Deus Ex series. Unless they can stop circlejerking with side-plot mobile-game business tactics (+temporary exclusivity extra payout with nintendo and apple).

My expectations with DX:HR were honestly low to begin with, which is why I was pleasantly surprised with it in general.

Square Enix want to milk the series, and have been honest about that, so don't expect much better. Final Fantasy was good once, too.

It's funny, because I find myself in a position where I want to take my music completely seriously now, and its as if the stars are aligned (no I don't believe in pseudoscience lol).

Video games used to be my #1 obsession, but now I just don't care that much about them anymore, and it's the perfect time to opt out. Games are shit, and show no signs of improving.

I still play games in the hopes that one day, for some reason, someone will decide I am apparently great at game design and my shitty ideas aren't so shitty.

Not really. I play them to unwind and break free. I don't take them as seriously as I used to, honestly. My expectations have lowered so that I may still enjoy them. Does that mean I wouldn't love a deeper game? Of course not, but I just don't see it coming anytime soon, so why wait for it?

In the meantime I'm quite content with playing coop games with my friends and doing whatever else in the meantime (which is usually not design related because I'm horribly unmotivated right now).

Precisely what I'm doing today. Work was too stressful.

Well, while it's true that games are going down the drain, one brave man named Chris Roberts (lead dev of the Wing Commander games) is making what hopefully will turn out to be an incredible PC exclusive. It's called Star Citizen, and so far it has been 100% crowd funded with current funds exceeding 20 million USD. No publisher. The cool thing is that Warren Spector worked on the first few Wing Commander games, and is likely a good friend of Chris Roberts.
