Deus Ex Alpha

I don't think too many know of or really appreciate how absolutely deep the Deus Ex storyline really was. It was beyond the MJ12, the Tribes, The Illuminati, the NSF, and UNATCO. The United States were in absolute chaos due to a second civil war in which the state of Texas had completely broken off with pieces of neighboring states, as well as the Midwest who were fighting for the whole of the US Midwest, and as a result were often mixed up in the northwest hitting their main income of US loyalist troops and supplies, including the vaccine which they needed for Texas and the Midwest.
This game had a pretty fucking deep storyline, it's a damn shame we don't have actual roleplay servers. If a few guys from GMod came around with a server and some mappers I'm sure it'd be possible though.

Yep. Probably about two years ago when people believed DX:RPG was going to actually release. Shouldn't be that hard to do IMO, I've seen scripts made in a matter of a couple of months. Maps a month at the very most. But I shouldn't complain, I'm sure one day there'll be a literal roleplay server.

So you want something like, a wasteland/wasted down environment on a RPG map?

I wouldn't exactly say that. I would more so say I would like a map of Houston, or something like that, not controled by UNATCO, but like a turn around, like in SP. You are the enemy, the supposed terrorist. If you're not a civilian or common law enforcement then you're a militia, fighting UNATCO and the states, and if you're in deep enough shit maybe even the MJ12. Maybe. The city would have to be a little shitty too, kind of like new york is, fucked up the ass with pollution and lowlifes, hobos and the plagued.

I want something where there's a city and a road leading out of it, into an outskirts, of 40 players, and seeing as there's been server that have 91238 slots (GODZ back in the day), I wouldn't think it too impossible, would certainly bring the GMod Roleplayers over, and give a lot more decent noobs, maybe even a more common gamemode, instead of NoAug and Aug

You can have as many virtual slots as you want, yet Unreal engine by nature takes a lot of resources and traffic, so in order to have a 30 slot server you will need a computer connected to the 100mbit+ broadband, and would run only Deus Ex. Maybe then it'll be playable.

Yes, I'm often on Garry's Mod 10 roleplay servers, so naturally I'm into the roleplay of Deus Ex. Being it my first good game that I also played online with.

I've heard that some rich punkass plays this game as well, I wouldn't find the idea of a wellkept filled roleplay server "completely impossible". It's a fun thought.

Hopefully MainMan will put up his RPG server again. (you may not know, but he hosted one a few months back when he finally completed it)

Who knows, new RPGs might be on the horizon.

And I prefer GM RP'in myself on MelonBrew, have they finished their own map?

I used to go to MelonBrew, that place is just fucking dead now. Ever since 10 came out they've been low on serverhits and in general any kind of activity.

A lot of people go to Taco and Banana and Mine-Dog for roleplay now.

I can only hope that someone or I for that matter starts up some sort of well done roleplay server with decent admins and the slots to satisfy.

The mappers from the GMod community make some of the most amazing maps you'd ever see. I wouldn't be surprised if they kicked some ass at DX maps as well, I'd have to hit up the crew at Mine-Dog maybe.

Other RPG's are in production I believe, you just need to be patient. =D

MMCity was far too complicated, all you need is local chat, credits, and a good map. I'd like to roleplay post-collapse kinda shit in Houston, now that'd be hectic.

Patient? Pshhh... it's 2007 and I'm still on dial-up. I haven't heard of any more RPG's other than DX:RPG.

I lack any faith in Klop of all people. Especially when it comes to the storyline of DX and Roleplay.
