Is it legal to put a .exe file of Deus Ex on the internet for download?

Its included in the demo. So yarp.

As long as it's available somewhere else for free, yes. For example, if you released Liberty Island map, with everything from SP left in it, and then editing the game path so it would read DXMP_LibertyIsland instead of 01_NYC_LibertyIsland, you got yourself the full level for free.

The full game should be free. Nobody is really buying it anymore.

The only reason they'd never give away DX1 for free is if they do actually make a Deus Ex 3. Because, a DX3 would 'revive' the Deus Ex series (or dig it's grave deeper, which shouldn't be hard to do as it is).

And, for those cheap enough to download it? If you can't afford $5 (well $10 for me) then you are a cheap-ass bastard.

Well, some people can't walk etc, and always use the computer. So it is an easier option to download it.
