Deus Ex: Animus

Postby Tonnochi » Sat Dec 01, 07 10:53 pm

I've officially started the machinima project I had mentioned a while ago. It will be the events of some of the Deus Ex missions, told differently, as if JC had help. With my planning so far, I need:

An online 8 people passworded server that can run:
http://www.dxalpha.co.uk/projects/mm/skins

In terms of coding, I need to know how to:

-Make NPC's patrol (move from one certain place to another.).

-Give an NPC a gun which he can hold so it's visible.

-Get rid of brackets around actors without having to look away.

1 - No idea. :(
2 - Select pawn, then open properties. Then choose AI, and set bKeepWeaponDrawn to true. (The NPC needs weapons in the inventory though)
3 - Select pawn, then open properties. Then choose ScriptedPawn, and set bHighlight to false.

You can also do 2 and 3 in game, as far as I know. just do 'admin set Scriptedpawn *whatever* *whatever*'.

Don't they use something called PatrolPoints? or PathNodes or w/e, I think it's a trigger of some sort.

I also meant giving him the gun. And if it's possible in-game.

Can't give pawns weapons in-game. Their Inventory variable is an accessed None in most cases.

Alright. And how do i make them look up? I know they're capable of it, I just don't know how to do it.

Requires coding, class editing.

Do you mean physically (as far as physically can go in a game) look up, or just be able to detect something above them?

Well there are so many awkward conversations in my many playthroughs of the game, where I am standing on a table while talking to a NPC for mission briefing and mission conclusions.
We all know JC in conversation and other characters can look up and look down at eachother, even the canon ending has JC looking up.

Animus Chapter I is missing three scenes (accidentally deleted), Animus Chapter II has begun filming. Animus was sort of delayed anyway for Allegiance (wanted to get it out of the way, didn't want people to get Allegiance confused with Animus because of mid-series release), but as soon as Hanz can host again, Animus Chapter I will be finished and hopefully Animus Chapter II as well. The only info I can give is that the title of Chapter I is The Assassination of Maggie Chow, and Chapter II is The Lucky Money Massacre. I've said too much.

It's a shame they didn't look up when fighting you. I got fucking tired of trying to stealth the Island when I first got DX and getting shot from way below by a NSF soldier who looked straight at the side of the building.

I'm in III omg.

I hated filming in that, the other people were slow, you were required to shoot some people at one point, then run and shoot the weld point. The other people couldn't kill them, I killed my lot and ended running ahead, being shot in the back by the other crew.
