Discussion: Staying at Unatco

Would of posted in Joey's old topic but that was more fan-mod related.

Long story short, got quite few people to purchase DX GOTY through Steam, at least 11 over the past few months. Anyway right, most if not all of those WANTED to stay at Unatco even if they were aware that it was very corrupted, they felt the game lost a lot of its touch or wasn't as fun when you weren't working as an official government agent.

Sorry for not putting that much input in yet, but yeah. Thoughts?

Yeah, I wanted to work for Manderley and assassinate Tong.

They should make a what-if mod...

I liked to feel belonging to such organization and... my office. Even though it disappointed me because all decorations I brought to it, were gone after the next mission (Ded solved that in 2027... if we ever see it).

But at the same time, story-wise, I wanted to shoot Navarre's, Gunther's and Walton's asses and stay close to Paul.

I only feel sorry for Manderley and the other employees who weren't Gunther or Anna. Something tells me about Manderley being truly sorry and knowing he'll die if he doesn't eliminate you... is this why he takes time for you to move before he fires out of fear?

Possibly. I didn't want to kill him either.

I heard there is some tricky solution for keeping him alive, not sure though.

I thought he just gave me a few seconds to run away before blasting my ass.

So I "capped his ass, too"

You can just run out I'm sure of it, he gets eliminated (disappears) anyway and replaced by Walton according to a bulletin.

The only real people I thought ever deserved to die at UNATCO was Gunther, Anna and Walton. All the agents, the secretary Janice Reed, Manderley, they were all tools, just like JC and Paul were. And, if I had my way, none of them would have to be harmed in anyway because they never deserved it.

I reckon Deus Ex would've been an awesome game with a "do I stay or do I go?" plot decision. It would've made the game so much more RPG than FPS. And to be honest, I LOVE FPS/RPG games, trying to find System Shock right now but it won't download the full thing =(
