Seriously, anyone who comes here looking for a howto will find no usefull information at all, so here is a basic outline to expand upon. For this entire guide you will need to be in root user in colsole by typing "su"

1. Download and install wine.
(this step assumes you have already become comfortable with your distro and have all the appropriate repositories installed)

Debian/Ubuntu users can type, in the console:
"apt-get install wine"
Other users will have to locate their package management utility (YaST, YUM e.c.t) and install "wine" and "wine devel"

2. Run "Wine" as your normal user in console. This will create the wine config files in /home/user/.wine

3. Insert Deus Ex CD rom into your CD drive. Change Directory to the cdrom eg: "cd /media/cdrom/name of cd" as "su"

then still in the console type "wine setup.exe" setup will run, install it to the default location unless you know what you are doing, it should be in /home/user/.wine/program files/

4. look for the Deus ex folder somewhere in /home/user/.wine/program files/ and copy the location of deusex.exe into your console so you can cd into it. then run "wine deusex.exe"

That should be all you need.

How the hell did you find this? And why? It would spare you the probable warning to begin a new topic.

Well I want it spruced up a little, yeah. It may be a stupid idea, but I thought that maybe it could bring people in from Linux backgrounds? I dunno.

Meh, I can't really update it because I'm not very knowledgeable with Linux (Also it's written by someone called "[4R]The Fuhrer" Lol!)

Also it's probs out of date, like me writing a technical guide using Windows 98 OS.
