It was the Xbox.

The GC 1.5 thing was from the original rumours seeded by the whole "two gamecubes taped together" thing.

The Wii actually has the power graphically of two Gamecubes.

Hollywood is the name of the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) used in Nintendo's Wii video game console. It was designed by ATI Technologies and is manufactured with the same 90 nm CMOS process[1] as the "Broadway" processor. Very few official details have been released to the public by Nintendo, ATI, or IBM. Unofficial reports claim it is essentially an enhanced revision of the Nintendo GameCube LSI "Flipper", and was reportedly clocked at 243 MHz, but none of the clock rates have been confirmed by Nintendo, IBM, or ATI. It is also unknown how many pixel pipelines or shader units Hollywood possesses.[2]

The Hollywood is a Multi-Chip Module package composed of two dies within the cover. One of the two chips, codenamed Napa, controls the I/O functions, RAM access, and the actual GPU with its 3 MiB of embedded texture memory, and measures 8 × 9 mm. The other, codenamed Vegas, holds the Audio DSP and the 24 MiB of "internal" 1T-SRAM and measures 13.5 × 7 mm. Hollywood has a 128-Bit memory interface between the VRAM and GPU.[3]

Also, here is the article that I read the Wii has double the pixel pipelines of the Gamecube.

Code: Select all
EN: Could you possibly tell us anything specific about the Wii GPU?
XP: I can tell you that it has double the number of pixel pipelines (of gamecube), and that it processes physics. It really takes a huge load off of the cpu.

http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33857367

The Xbox chip is usually referred to as a GeForce 3.5, (google this one), and if you look at this part of the article --
Code: Select all
EN: How about the Wii hardware? What are the specs?
XP: Although i cannot give you exact numbers at this time i can give you a rough idea about the power of the machine. I would compare the graphics chip to somewhere inbetween the ATI Radeon X1400 and the Radeon X1600, and the CPU to between the AthlonXP 2400+ and the AthlonXP 3000+.

EN: Can you tell us how much memory at what speed the Wii has?
XP: I cannot say how much memory the Wii has, but its running at 650mhz.

EN: As we saw in many current-gen titles, 480p can result in significant jaggies. Can we expect AA and AF from Ubisoft's Wii titles?
XP: Red steel will have 4x Antialiasing and 8x Anisotropic Filtering.

EN: What's been your favorite thing about working on Red Steel?
XP: The controller, easily.

EN: What was the biggest challenge?
XP: Not telling the world about it back in january (laughs). Honestly the biggest challenge has been making sure the control is just right.

EN: Will Rayman on the Wii be a port of the current-gen game with new controls, or will it have new art assets for Wii?
XP: Its not a port, other than that i cannot say.

EN: We've been hearing a lot of consistent talk about 60fps at 480p widescreen from other developers. Is this something we'll see a lot of on Wii?
XP: I believe so yes.

Particularly at the beginning, it is compared to a X1500 of sorts, and if you look at somewhere like Tom's hardware, you can see that an X1600 is slightly below the 6800 and above the 6600. So in nVidia terms it would be compared to a 6700 if it existed.

Wii is practically the same as the Gamecube, TP are identical on both consoles.

Retro Stated that the Gamecube could not handle Metroid Prime 3.

And when the Wii specs were released, it boiled down to about 1.5x the power of the original Xbox.

AAAAAND, the Xbox was the strongest console in terms of hardware last gen.

The Xbox1 is a motherfucking BEAST! Love that thing.

That is because it is easier to have an identical game with a few control changes and mirror it than to re-do the graphics of the whole thing to fully take avantage of the Wii, delaying the game YET AGAIN.

Think they have enough cash or balls to make a slim PS3? Scale it down so it's the size of a sedan maybe?

Cash: Yes. But not for long at this rate. Needs more games.
Balls: Not for a while yet.
Size down to a sedan: Sounds good to me. Will look forward to it. :D

I decided to buy PS3.

Please tell me, does it have to be connected to the internet, if I bring the games with myself and I don't intend to play the multiplayer? In the place where PS3 will be installed the internet traffic is quite expensive.

NO DAE

DON'T GO INTO THE FIRE.

Also, the PS3 never has to be connected to the internet unless you intend on using the PlayStation Network.

You won't have games to play anyway.

I just found out there is black version of Xbox360, called Elite (color matters for my parents...)

At the same time I read on Wikipedia that elite has been discontinued (although its sold in the nearest shop) and its old, etc. True/false?

How good Xbox 360 is with HDTVs of 50"+?

Also, now about Xbox360:

After watching some screenies and gathering information I decided to stop on XBox 360 Elite.

+ I can play Forza 2, Gears of War and many other exclusive games on it
+ It has a bigger community in Russia than PS3
+ A lot of games can be downloaded (I will download only if there is no localized legal version)

- It looks worse than PS3 (on photos at least, haven't seen in reality yet)
- It doesn't support 1080p (only 1080i)
- It doesn't have blu-ray
- It can't run Ubuntu Linux (only special Xbox Linux which requires some hardware modifying?)

Looking forward to buying the first console in my life :P

ENKIDUDU is after a mech that is indeed based on ENKI & ENKIDU, rode by a man who is also related to beasts.

You know whats the funniest thing, search for Enkidudu on myspace for the first result.

Interesting, I was reading up on Gilgamesh and is told he controlled Enkidu with a prostitute that made him more relaxed. 8)
