Medics easy to play and everyone likes you cause you kept them alive, so seems smart choice for beginers!

I like Engineer too though, tried spy but I just die a lot

I'll quote this for truth as well. I used to play Medic when I started because it was so easy but I hated it. Coming from an RPG/MMO background, I hate healing. Always have. So the medic didn't grow on me too well.

What if we owned our own public 9v9 TF2 server?, what do you think?

Upon the next content update I'll be aiming to strike at the opportunity to bring more of the DXMP community into the game. If this is successful I'll be initiating a plan that I'd never thought to see come to fruition: renting a server. For an entire year I've been in love with a play condition unique to Team Fortress-esqe games named "Highlander", in short this is basically 9v9 and you can only have 1 of each 9 classes on each team. It's a forced form of balance and encourages the team to use the strengths and weaknesses of each class without multiple anomalies popping up; e.g, a team with 3 engineers, 3 snipers and 3 spies.

I'll be renting for a month/2 months to test activity when we get the next major class update, I will be promoting it to all highlander fanatics and affiliate it with DXMP and a certain community a few of us attend who will hopefully use it as an active server even if an alternative or "waiting server". In short my goal is a server that can be filling and full for a majority of the week's afternoon and evenings that will be backed up by regulars, if this goes well I'll keep renewing the contract with whatever server provider I'll choose. I'll be planing on how to manage the server in the coming months.

Also, if I were to pick this up, I'd need a name for the server; eg:

Using "Deus Ex" as an example shown in the following concept style formats when shown on the serverlists:

I'd like feedback whenever this is a good idea or not. Oh, and we're playing TF2 in at 7pm GMT.

I like the idea tbh. Don't know how often I'd use it, I barely use my own server as is (inactivity and unwillingness to spam forums to "advertise").

I personally like the Arx Genus name and would love to see its usage simply because it's unique and sounds cool lol.

As for your goals (on activity and the like) I think it's highly possible due to the amount of people who have converted from DXMP to TF2 (most from this forum). I'd also be willing to play an hour or two every so often even with no one on (since even one person tends to attract a least one other after a while, I've found this out from my own server).

EDIT: I will kill the GMT time zone with a rubber chicken.

RTV and votescramble installed this morning.

Highlander.smx (a mod for highlander, not the actual gametype) doesn't work at all, crashes the server. Disabled indefinitely.

remove tc_hydro
readd arena_ravine and add arena_lumberjack to the server
update motd
