pretty standard openings except he got an earlier baneling nest and massed zerglings and banes and killed my expo
i thought it wouldn't matter since i'm ahead in drones and i got some baneling kills on his drones so i switched to roaches on 1base 2hatch but he got more roaches in the end
later on i just went desperate mutas and lost
anyway i think i shouldn't have lost my expo but this:
if he goes mass lings and banes i could go for that too blindly and still counter it
if he goes drones i can actually kill him with banes and lings????
actually better to always make banes and lings?????????????????

No Nestea? Possible return of champion MC (decent run lately outside of GSL) with protoss buffs? Likely.

Spines are vital for ling bane war defense if you don't have as much as your opponent. If I see my opponent is more than 40 seconds later with his expo than I am I already think of getting a spine or 2 in my natural, just to help hold off lingbane allins.
You should always go lingbane, unless you get a money scout and see he's going straight for roaches. (I would eventually still get a banenest, but that's just for later on, defending possible ling runbies) Just remember that going straight into roaches is a bad opening and gives up any map control.
Don't overmake units, but don't play the ZvT/ZvP style of droning till 5-8 minutes either. Remember the queen is the only early anti-air unit, and it can't be all over the map with it's crawlingspeed, so spread out overlords. Direct attack path is the first thing that should be covered by your overlords. Sacrifice lings to scout tech/drones/army.
If for some reason you do make too many units, take map control and if your opponent is unadequately prepared, just win the game :]
800 points silver is the goal for almost-certain promotion to gold ye, so you're already past it.

i see dex playing sc2 and want to play a game
dex leaves game 8 minutes in before anything significant happens again and immediately closes sc2 and starts a different game

So you lose 400 minerals and i lose 4 zealots 1 stalker 3 sentries = 675 minerals 350 gas, leaving me with no army and you with 8 roaches 20 zerglings.

Apparently I'm going to lose some of that army killing your stuff and cannons are pretty good to repel any sort of counter attack i might have had in plan along with you warping in some shit at your natural. Also 36 probes direct counter to 27 drones in harvesting resources.
Conclusion: I need to drone up, neglecting army = you kill me. I build army = not enough resources, you have more army due to more resource collection = you kill me.

Maps being removed: (2) Xel’naga Caverns
Players have been enjoying Xel’naga Caverns since the StarCraft II beta. However, as this map is no longer preferred in a tournament setting, we’ve opted to pull it from the pool for this season. (2) Arid Plateau
In the spirit of making every ladder map tournament viable, we added two new maps last season that would be true to that goal. We pushed some new features on Arid Plateau such as unusual natural expansions, and a lot of open areas around the map. Arid Plateau wasn’t as widely accepted as a tournament friendly map, so we’ve decided to retire it from the rotation for Season 6.
Tossers don't need a range upgrade for phoenix, they're fine. That is a silly idea.
Tossers don't need a range upgrade for phoenix from a 300/200 building required for it, that is useless and Protoss won't use it. That is an even sillier idea.

I'd be ok with removing the autofire and giving phoenixes +1 range from the start, allows people to counter mutas if they spend some time with it instead of just moving their phoenixes around.

Yeah, toss can't really defend properly against muta's until Tempests replace carriers.

Uh yeah phoenixes are definitely cost effective against mutas aidan.
It looked like it was unstoppable a month or 2 ago, but since then protoss actually are scouting for spire now (which takes ages to be built)
Besides with 100/100 minerals/gas per muta there's no way for the zerg to suddenly have a huge flock of mutas in the midgame unless you never really reacted to what you scouted, or had the game lost way before that.
