Jaedong has been thinking about SC2 prior to this announcement, this announcement can mean bad things for the Dong because of controversy in BW.

Everyone needs to stop living in BW. It's a great game, but it's honestly time to MOVE ON; along with the controversial entailment.

I'd love to start playing SCII again, but I have wayy too much night school work at the moment.

PostPosted: Fri Apr 27, 12 3:59 pm

Disagreed. BW has a lot of things over SC2 should have adopted by now.

PostPosted: Fri Apr 27, 12 5:28 pm

That's a good point. Until that is done, hxc BW players will not transfer to SCII. Am I correct in saying that?

No. They'll follow the money.

Blizzard announces cross-region play, multiplayer match resume for Starcraft II

Like Diablo III, Starcraft II will now allow players to create profiles in any region they choose. Your ladder ranking and such will still be region-locked, but there will be nothing stopping you from reaching Grandmaster in North America, Europe, and Korea on the same account

Cool, fucking awesome. Where's LAN though? :D

Unranked matchmaking: Ladder anxiety. That feeling you get going into a multiplayer match with precious, invisible Internet points on the line. Sometimes you just want to jump into a low-stress bout with a like-skilled player without having to worry about taking a hit to your virtual awesomeness ranking. This new option will let you do exactly that. It’ll work more or less exactly like the current matchmaking, except that there are no ladder points to be lost or gained.

lol. SC2 ladder is better than nSF4 ranked (no one uses it)

Because online SSF4 is a joke to most people

It is where you go to grind out things and practice, it doesn't matter to anybody

Just like SC2. Ladder is where you make money from ad streams at top level.

SC2 ladder is good for people learning but losses can be crippling and bonus pool/ranking can make people self conscious. There was no unranked matchmaking before this for God knows what reason.

SO YOU'RE LOOKING TO GETTING INTO STARCRAFT 2

First, mess around. Don't do practice league, it might will set you up for failure. About 50% of the people who I introduced into SC2 skipped practice league by accident and they're the ones actively playing it.

Two things:

Don't watch anything else of Day9's. Nothing else. Most are far too outdated and you're best watching his shows as recent as they can be... but they lack in quality.

After that watch dapollo's working up from bronze league series for whatever race you like most.

6 posts in a row. Just had to state the obvious.

Is anyone currently active in starcraft? The insane amount of DayZ hackers makes me want to stop my clan, and get into it again.

My god, how did this thread get near the bottom!

When I get my Mac... I think this is one of three games I will play from now on. I've been watching many videos and viewing strategies lately. Can't wait to get back into it and move up from bronze lol.

I will have to see if I can run this game on my laptop. I still like the game, it's just that there's been many things happening in between.

Did you have a european account? (or is cross server play already added?)

PostPosted: Fri Sep 21, 12 9:43 pm

I have a NA and EU account :)

Based on the amount of things I have learned reccently, I don't think I'll have an issue moving up. It helps knowing that I don't have to be too concerned about micro until gold+

Haha, yeah its a common pitfall to just be microing your heart out and not look at your base for a minute. Which race were you playing again?

I've stopped following SC2 for the moment because I really don't like the direction Blizzard are taking the game. They've been developing this expansion's multi-player for 2 years yet these new additions do not create a dynamic and further put the game's integrity into question, they even removed a unit a few weeks within a closed beta because it acted too much like an existing unit.

When you've been following this game since the start and its predecessor for a majority of its competitive life you notice a lot of standards SC2 has failed to hit. Roll on the final version of HOTS or maybe October 2013.
