So yeah, I got CoP today and will give my impressions after installing.

Dae, if I don't like it, will you set the KGB on me?

Came early for me, and I've seen it in Game (albeit £30 for the STANDARD).

£17.99 at Play.com right now.

 We're such limey bastards!

Enjoy your newfound crippling fear every night, all night.

Okay, impressions.

To sum it up: cheap and cheerful entertainment.

Graphics: models look a bit...dated. However, on some occassions, the visuals can be quite stunning (especially indoors).

Gameplay: reminds me quite a bit of Oblivion (was going to say Fallout 3 but HERP-DERP). Entirely free-roaming gameplay with standard RPG quest structure. I must say, hanging out with Stalkers holds a very quaint charm, especially the ones who say "Wassup, bro" and "TAEK A CHEEL PEEL, MANG".

Challenge: playing this on stalker (or normal difficulty) is a sufficient challenge for me, with bog-standard armour you will probably die within roughly 4-5 shots; yet the game is NEVER cheap.

Sure, this game doesn't have the production value of a Bioware or Valve title, but it holds its own charms which are too few and far between these days.
Signatures are dumb.

You should play the other stalker games. S.T.A.LK.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl was in my opinion one of the best games ever made. Too bad Clear Sky didn't do much justice to SoC, besides with graphics.

STALKER is an excellent game yes, even better when modded.

Yet to play Clear Sky or CoP

In a perfect autistic world we do not discuss our interests.

Well not a problem, but I find it pretty ironic that you accuse me of being "autistic" yet at the same time spend all your time jacking off to some video games, claiming them as your hobby.

I'm sure only an autistic would declare that he thought I implied video games are only allowed to be my hobby and I guess I was right.

I'll have fun with my video games you stay angry at video games.

If you ever get the original STALKER:

Jake you were right about the funny Stalker people. WASSUP BRO and HEY DUDE WANNA TRADE. Everyone's so surprisingly friendly, often asking if you wanna walk with them to a certain place, and declaring they're glad to see you even if they don't know you.

KYPCK is hilarious yet fitting for the background noise

That Hawaiian at the station is hilarious

Also, fuck weight limits. I have to sacrifice carrying 5 guns in favor of stacking up x20 on bandages, SAUSAGE ROLLS, bread, vodka, anti-radiation drugs and first aid kits. I even dropped a pimped out LR300 with a scope and a silencer and 250 rounds :'(

I only ever finished the first, so for me the first one is the best

CoP was very decent though, starts out a bit harder and drops you right into the middle of shit it felt like, where in SoC you kind of got eased into things (Even though I still ended up the millitairy outpost right at the start because YOLO)

Looking forward to giving CoP another try in the near future.

Install or not?

Pros? Cons?
