One of the most average for me, but a lot of elements might make it one of the worst for me.
Let me start this by saying I played it on 1999 mode first, this ruined what I thought of it but my friends share the same feeling that it didn't have a good variety. A lot of content has been removed and there's a lot of enemies you never even get to fight. For example,
there's also a boss you fight at three points which never fucking changes.
What I dislike externally from the game itself is how it is rated as one of the best. There's games that have done these features in the past to much better effect 9-10 years ago. The animations stiff, the story bad, the gameplay is standard, the difficulty a huge cluster fuck of imbalance, the art style beautiful, the technical grounds dated, the audio sublime, the selected choices of music fine, the actual music scored for the game non-impactful, the AI bad, the weapon restrictions worse. It is... the most average game I've played in a long time...
This game cost 100 million USD to create and 100 million USD to market. Sure I shouldn't be looking at it that way, but is this really where the industry is going? Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed sells phenomal numbers but I can't help but notice all the other games with similar costs that fail and all the studios/publishers being shut down when failing to recoup their losses. The recent Square-Enix annual finance report was astonishing on how it considers 3 million copies sold a failure on multiple products.
Also, the story is utter shite. Within any time or multiverse plot there's going to be a lot of plotholes but the actions and how things unfolded was simply retarded. However, I did appreciate
Elizabeth's initial naivety, Fink's Plagarism and the Lutece twins.
At the least, at least it didn't forget it was ever a videogame. But this is the product of $200m? This game does not live up to its costs.
I am dead.
