Forum upgrade

Postby Alex » Sat Apr 12, 14 1:12 pm

Today the forum has been upgraded completely with a new theme!

All data should be migrated successfully. In the coming days a few more themes (colorsets) will be added, and more small tweaks will be applied.

The installed themes enable you to move the poster info from the right to the left by going to your User Control Panel and opening the "Profile" tab.
At the end of the page you'll find a dropdown named "Position of poster information".

Comments, suggestions or found bugs may be reported in this topic.

Updates:
Forum has been upgraded to the latest phpBB version (3.0.12)
The new theme "Metro" has been installed.
The forum Webdevelopment has been removed and existing topics have been moved into Creative.
The forum Scripting society has been removed and existing topics have been moved into Editing issues.
The forum alpha laboratories has been moved to Modifications.

Known bugs:
HTML tags no longer work in signatures and posts (center, strikethough, anchor links). No fix will be implemented
Youtube BBCode tag no longer works. (will be added)

Big fan of Teal. HTML code or rather some of it code is disallowed for posting though.

Correct, that's new in phpBB3 unfortunately. HTML is not supported anywhere..

And I'm using Teal myself too.

I like the new theme, seems light and pleasant :) Avatar/poster info placement is some kind of middle-/eastern conspiracy, though.

I like it, but could new posts be clearer when browsing the forum, and could the title of the thread the most recent post is in be displayed alongside the posters name? If possible anyway.

I'll look into the new post markers later today. I added some extra text in the forum overview, unfortunately it's not the thread title, but the post subject (Which is often Re: <thread title>).

I quickly redid the logo and couldn't find the (original) font for that text :( and didn't want to stall the entire upgrade due to a missing font.

Does PhpBB3 support WebM to be embedded? They're basically better than gif images.

WebM is probably the most interesting thing about HTML5 for me. Gfycat is fucking great.
