About advertisement

Postby Dae » Thu Dec 21, 06 7:24 pm

They're just an experiment to see if dxalpha is able to cover its domain and hosting costs.
Even though dxalpha.com is relatively popular, the situation with advertising on small sites in the Internet was always pathetic (I earned 15 cents from my first site in 2001, rofl (it wasn't Google AdSense though)), and now I'm wondering if it changed. To be honest, I don't believe, but many people say so. Payment goes per clicks, not views.
I really hope they won't be annoying for you. If they don't bring enough money, I will certainly remove them.

Somehow I don't think Google know the difference between Google and Deus Ex, LOL.

I heard that Google adsense is 7 cents a click, but it's strange how you earned 15 cents Daedalus. Google lies, they don't post relevant ads, it's just too hard with millions of sites that use google. Daedalus, I would give you the weblink for the job that pays 560 dollars a week online, but I don't want other people to see it because they pay you less every time the site grows [I used to earn a thousand a week when it first opened ] And Daedalus, the secret is traffic booster.

Google may pay even a half a dollar for a click, just dxalpha's CTR is too low. And I don't believe in "$560 per week by doing 4 surveys", sorry.

Meh, surveys suck and are you getting substantial money from Google Ads?

I actually do get the money, but the downside is... I get 1,000,000 e-mails and actual mails per week. I can buy you a traffic booster [150 dollars] but you don't even have a regular website.

Who defines what a "real" website is anyway? A Forum is just as much a "real" website then any other site.

If it can get revenue and gain hits, it's a website.

I don't know what to call it. I mean a main site. The one that has buttons that will take you to information, forums, or anything else as such. A special section for hall of fame too.

You should see if you can get CPM ads (I know of only http://www.valueclickmedia.com atm) as I assume this site must get alot more than 1000 views per month.

90k-100k views a month?! Shit man, with ValueClick the pay rate is like 45% of revenue share per 1,000 impressions.

In other words, Valueclick takes 55% of the sum the advertiser pays? I didn't get it :S

Well, we all know that Google AdSense are contextual ads. Contextual means it finds a context on the pages and displays the ads accordingly. But wtf
