Beware MSN Virus.

Postby ~DJ~ » Thu Dec 06, 07 8:36 am

Hey,
If a contacts window pops up with a link, something like (adding Extra w because i think maybe anyone can get the virus) wwww.dont-miss-this.com dont click on it. It is a virus thingy that reads your address book and then sends it to all the people in your address book.
Some Idiot Sended To All DX Players. I Saw four Peoples With This Virus Or They Are Trying To Give Us A Virus.. Anyways I Think TELNET Got This Virus. And He Sends Me This Kind Of Links.
For More Info See This Site.

Beware.

Who the hell reads e-mails from their hotmail accounts anyway? Microsoft gives your address out for "cool offers" as soon as you join.

I do, as I often get useful emails, along with the regular spam.

Actually, those "cool offers" are completely optional...

Actually, talking is a basic feature of any Instant Messenger. AND if this is a link www.dont-miss-this.com then it should work on any IM. Not just MSN, also in websites.

Turn off your computer and make sure it powers down.
Drop it in a 43ft hole in the ground.
Bury it completely rocks and boulders should be fine.
Then burn all the clothes you may have worn at any time you were online.

Or try re-installing MSN.

He didn't give it to you, it's an automated message that appears when he signed in I think.

Anybody who would trust their contacts enough to open any link they send, deserves to get a virus. First rule of talking to people within this community is: Don't trust them.

If you use an antivirus which has up-to-date definitions/bases, a firewall and Firefox instead of IE, you may click every link and forget what is actually a virus.

Norton is only a basic thing - If you're planning to do anything but light internet browing you should upgrade to something more secure (AVG, McAffee, etc)

recently there's been a guy on my contact list who keeps trying to send me the virus. Luckily, My anti virus checks all sites prior to letting me on them lol.. Long story short, he's blocked, I'm happy, he's infected with whatever it is he's trying to send me lol
