So right I have some 320gb external harddisk, and stuff
and like anytime I turn it on now, it freezes my computer, and even if it does manage to do something I still cant acces the drive (something about no disc being inserted, lolwtf)

From experience I figured if my PC freezes when I turn it on I guess it could be a fucked up USB port, so I tried on a different PC and I get pretty much the same thing, so yeah.

Just hoping for a miracle that anyone else had the same thing and has a magic fix for it, if not, ignore thread and I'll just buy a new one.

Is it a BIOS error?

Something like MAC Address not found...

Moreover what type is it?

SATA?

And what is your BIOS?

IBM,Dell etc??

If you've had it for a while, the thing that immediately springs to mind is a HDD-Disk fault. Although it would give a blatent error if there was.
