Postby Mastakilla » Thu Apr 07, 11 5:45 pm

I got one of those fake virus scanner things on my pc. Giving fake warnings and trying to force me to buy a full version of "My Security Engine". Need to get rid, please help? :3

I googled it but no real succes...
I've tried to run in safe mode and delete it, however I can't find the program!

If googling did not return any valuable results, then perhaps the virus is spoofing them for you.

Here's what I get:

I have no idea if these instructions are even trustworthy, but somewhere there they mentioned Windows Defender can get rid of it if you're using Vista or 7.

Yes I realized it was re-directing me all the time.
I've downloaded Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware, ran it in safemode and it deleted the corrupted files and registry settings.

Works fine now!
thanks
:)
