Two connections

Postby Dex » Fri Apr 29, 11 9:13 pm

Right, my motherboard has 2 Ethernet ports. Since I do have 2 internet providers, I'd like to take an advantage of that and connect one modem directly to the PC, and connect a router to the second port (For the network at home). Now both of those are always connected to the internet, and there seems to be a conflict when using the internet if I have both connections turned on on my PC. I'd like to use both of them, the first one for the internet and the second one for a home network. Help? Thanks.

Supermicro X7DAL-E Motherboard
Airlive WL-1500R router

Basically two connections:

Cnct1 modem ---> PC
Cnct2 modem ---> Router

Now I want to connect the PC to the router, and have both connections on at the same time. I will only use Cnct2 as a local network (sharing etc.), where I will use Cnct1 to connect to the internet. Now since both connections have internet access, my PC is having a conflict when I have them both on. Basically I have trouble connecting to some sites and different websites are saying i'm on different connections.
