Alright thanks. Also, what about the other fixes? Those are just because I've lost my memory...

Have you added the map to your DeusEx.ini yet? Here's a guide how:

Open your Deus Ex.ini:

Image

Locate this section (Near the bottom):

Image

IF you can't see this, Open Deus Ex, click on Multiplayer>Lan>Host. Host a basic game, then close it. Open your .ini again and it should be there.

Enter the map name you want, in this case:

Code: Select all
DXMP_FunLine_BigFlyingParty-2

Add this to the next avaliable number, most likely Maps[4]=.

Now the map is in your System. Next scroll abit up, and find this section:

Image

You can see it says CurrentMap=. The map name after this will be the map that automatically starts if you, for example, run a .bat file I believe. To be fair, when you press Host, you can choose the map to host anyway.

Add the map you want, most likely
Code: Select all
DXMP_FunLine_BigFlyingParty-2.

And of-course the final thing to do is:

So then, hope that helps!

I don't have that section in my DeusEx.ini. I think I know why.

Ok, since you all have different routers, I have a better tutorial.
Step 1
Go to http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm and find your router (And click on the link, of course)
Step 2
Go to the list with all D's, and look for 'Dues Ex' (Yes, Dues! They made a mistake, a stupid one), and click on the link.
Step 3
Follow all instructions that are on the page you reached.

From the deus ex Readme file :

make sure that ports 7790, 7791, 7792 and 27900 are allowed through.

so the port 8777 isn't needed

That's old. I know 27900 isn't required aswell. At least, I tried hosting a server without having 27900 & 8777 bound, and that worked out just fine.

Is it just me, or do games now show up regardless of being hosted on LAN or internet? I keep hosting LAN games for my friends, yet somehow it keeps getting gate-crashed by DX-ST members asking for admin/killing my mates...

LAN server just means that the uplink is not set.
If the ports are forwarded, others can still join if they know IP and port.

But it also shows up on internet games to me, despite the fact i'm behind a router, with properly forwarded ports, regardless of whether it's a LAN game or not... =S

Then the uplink is set..
Apart of that, it's unlikely that you see your own server shown in the internet. :?

Ah well, I'm not complaining. ( that much :P )

It's just an inconvenience that I can't host in privacy. But I guess it's better than most people here.
