Zora, please have a look here. Such errors are very common in DX, and we all probably need to disable that I guess.

Disabling the message won't remove the cause.
However, if you're annoyed by the message itself, a setting to disable it would help though.

The current version V1.4a139 is now running since quite a time and doesn't show problems. You may want to upgrade to that version, esp. if you still run V1.4a100.

Please download and install V1.4b10 client side. Of course, you also can install it at your server (and get some other security updates), but for the clients the most important update is the package checking. Connecting to servers running maliciously infected packages, like the one with the "aaaModmapModF", won't cause harm to your client any more.

Yes.

No, it checks every file which is loaded to play on the server. No matter if you just downloaded it or got it from elsewhere.

It doesn't disinfect your client though.

Nephthys V1.4 is going to become a final release soon. The current release candidate V1.4rc4 is available for download.

It is designed to add security and protection for your client as well as for your server. The first post of this topic shows more details and gives a link to the full manual.

Please test it out and don't hesitate with feedback. :-)

Any bugs not reported before the release of the final 1.4 can't be fixed in the final 1.4. :cry:

Even good feedback is welcome.

Nephthys v1.4 is now publicly released! Nephthys v1.3 was released in Oct. 2006, so it was about time for a new version.

All older versions are now obsolete. If you still use an older version please upgrade to the new Nephthys v1.4. All settings will be preserved.

Also, it's very much appreciated if you host the file at your site as a mirror to make it available from multiple download locations.

Nephthys is a native mod for Unreal1 engine based servers allowing for efficient attack blocking, banning, player logging and other features.
Nephthys also is a client-side mod to profit from web hosted downloads. Joining servers with custom maps/mods using Nephthys is by a multiple faster than without Nephthys.

I received a letter from gmail saying that Gmail found a virus in a letter with subject "Nephthys v1.4 - New release of the Unreal1 engine security mod" from Zora zzora@lavabit.com.

I downloaded Nephthys 1.4 from attachment above and scanned it by myself, no viruses (of course).

I tried to send the mod as attachment to some other gmail recipients as well and the gmail mailer daemon returned the mail because of malicious contents (I don't remember the exact words).

Before sending it to anywhere I scanned it with the online virus scanner http://www.virustotal.com/ which uses about 20 known virus scanners (such as AntiVir, BitDefender, Kaspersky, Symantec). None gave a positive result. You can see the results here:
