I have no idea whoever did it and why they did this. I understand the general idea, but it has made general chat contain a lot more inactive and threads moved even more inactive over the new problems the combination has brought.
First of all, I don't think users appreciate this every time they want to see a community post that isn't a journal.
But then we've got this:

Seriously. The posts labeled as community are very indistinguishable from other posts, so you'd have to open up the topic to see if its a journal or a Birthday thread which annoys me quite a lot. Not only this, community posts are spaced from days, weeks, and months which all fitted perfectly in General Chat. I tell you, look at General Chat right now and look at the mess you see with all the moving.
Here are 3 votes, I'll be voting for option 2.
(For option 3: I don't think anything warrants 2 small forums instead of the huge one where General Spam will be more popular than General Chat if option 1 or 3 pass. But you may think differently.)
