It cant be 2009. Maybe 2008? I was inactive in 2009, and I remember something like this happening when I was playing.

who remembers that server a year or two ago which had the admin password on the server name? was only up for a few days i think, there were more than 1 server. no idea who hosted them but it kinda died after everyone started banning each other.

Definitely JimBowen's, first server I ever went on as 'AlexDenton' only to be told by keith (who at the time I didn't know was Keith) that somebody already used that name.

Not sure if its been mentioned and i cant be arsed to check, but i loved the Iceworld battles on the old DXMS server, and again when it popped back up in 2008 i think it was, breifly.

Plenty of training time in there!

There were loads of good maps on that server

I once saw clix get 100+ in the server, and mastakilla getting 90+

VOLLKRASS

Years active: ~2002-2004
Gametype: 0aug

VOLLKRASS introduced me and many other people to 0aug, and it was the best 0aug server in Europe at that time. That's where I first met Anton/Raiden, Tom/Conceited, Void clan {Ø} and many other people.

The server was ran by the German clan [R2R] (Ready To Rumble). I remember that they were all nice people, some of them were mature and one guy was a father of two other members. They had an active forum and played trainings with the other clan [DD] (Dare Devils) on a weekly basis. (It seemed like a good idea to me and years later I tried to organize trainings for Alpha with other clans, but that had no success).

There's an interesting thing about VOLLKRASS: it had LAMs. Having LAMs in 0aug apparently was normal during that period, but that was indeed a subject for massive controversy. There weren't many 0aug servers with LAMs after the VOLLKRASS era.

0-aug can be very boring without lams, turrets, cameras, use of tools, picks etc. I think it's very sad not to use DX stuff and hear bangs and feel you are in a battle.

It all happened between 2006 and 2007. EDH server was in 2007 and Hasharin didn't know apparently.

But they'd be more ppl playing in people actually hung around in a server for a little while, you can't not join dx because there are no players, it's a bit chicken and egg. Can't have your cake thingy.

Soon I am going to host a 24/7 bot server with an updated PvBCageMatch. If the servers are empty, a person might decide to play against bots rather then exit DX. This will raise the probability of other people joining and will help keep DXMP from being completely empty.

I used to play on it in like 2004-2005. It was online 24/7, American, often hosted DXMP_Towers, had augs.

I don't remember specific details about the server that I am thinking of, but they hosted like 4 servers at a time, and the server was in a foreign language. (was it called "yet another UT server" ? I'm not to sure tbh)
