So,

I was thinking it would be cool to create some really banging mods for multiplayer. Like, whenever I check the server list, I'm bored.

In order to do this, we need to create a secret society of scripters and codders. I'm hoping we can get a forum up and start working on ideas and hopefully, producing interesting and actually finished mods.

The main people that I think would be ideal for the secret society would be me, darma, and Poor, and redgreasel, if we have beer. Together I think we can help write mods, test, and host them. If anyone else is interested just say something.

I want to learn coding and stuff, because I want to created a Deus Ex co-op mod to play through the SP campaign online. It's a big goal and I need to watch and learn from others to learn coding, I'm after any help I can get.

I can do little jobs if asked, and I might have some ideas to throw in the mix.

This is a great idea. You'd need to put fourth a LOT of work though to create something that wows the community.

Keep in mind that dx is a very old game with a small community.

This IS a good idea and once I have a stable internet connection (in one place rather than 3) I will join and begin to share my ideas.

I know little of what is or isn't possible in the Unreal Engine but I believe wholeheartedly that we can do something worthwhile given (lots of) time. The community may be small Aidan but it's damned resilient!

My first idea is Deus EX co-op to play the single player campaign online.

I@m basically thinking an exact copy of synergy for half life 2, just for dx.

It's hard to get a forum site active. It's all about content. If there is no fresh content then people won't have a reason to visit the site. Discussion counts as content but there needs to be enough discussion to sustain a cycle of new discussion and content. The owners of inactive sites must find a way to jump start this cycle. It's very difficult and I gave up on my own site long ago.

lol, I'm not giving up so much as I'm tactically withdrawing, I have a new job that I'll be immersed in so I just won't have time within the next year to work on the site or contribute.
